christmas card exchange 2008

Published

i haven't seen the post for this years christ mas card exchange. i know it is early but christmas will be here before we know it. chris at lucas usually does this and i emailed her in hoping to get this started. i know this should be in the breakroom but a lot of members including myselfare noot premium members and also like to participate. i really love all the cards i get from you guys, my kids love looking at all the different places they come from. any ways hoping to get some interested parties so we can get this started.

i just got in touch with chris and this is what you need to do if you want to participate. i really love this time of year and it really sets you in the mood for the holidays.to reiterate from seasons past.... any allnurses member can participate in the allnurses christmas card mailing list, even if they are not a premium member. just pm or email me (i prefer email, actually) the following information: remember you do not need to send a card to every one on the list, just send what you can afford with postage today.

your allnurses name

your real name (so your postal carrier will know it is you)

your mailing address, including your zip or postal code

your email address so i can send you the list

then, later chris will start sending out the list by email. in the past i have sometimes remembered how to make it set up like labels, so if you are inclined, you can print it off that way. now, this is christmas, so you don't have to send a card to everyone, but it's kind of nice to do that. however, if you can't for some reason but really wish you could, go ahead and join us. with no exceptions that i know of, we'd all rather send you a card at a time that you particularly need one, than have you sitting this year out because you couldn't afford postage or whatever.

and it goes without saying, the information on this and any previous allnurses christmas card list is confidential, and not to be shared with anyone. if they are on the list, they got a copy. if they lost it, they can email me (i know who signs up!). if they aren't on the list, sorry, they don't get access to the info. it is all set up to protect all of us.....

some people only want to send and receive email greetings. i'd like to encourage the email greetings sector to use the allnurses email or pm functions to send those greetings, rather than the actual christmas card list.

so, let the merriment begin! (even if it is a little early..... )

maybe we can make this a stickie like last year, eh, mods?

I mailed mine this morning. I have only gotten one so far, too. It took me awhile to get to the post office to buy all those stamps. Also got the international ones sent.

Hey michael79,

Not Yet! I'm working on them!:)

The latest list just went out in the email.

If you didn't receive yours, please EMAIL me (I only get 25 PM's and you'd be surprised how fast that fills up!) and be sure to include your allnurses ID, your real name, mailing address including city, state, zip and if not US, your country.

I know I've been slower this year and I appreciate everyone's patience and enthusiasm. Quite a few are participating, and it's a wonderful feeling to be part of something this happy.

Chris.....you are doing a great job.....I would hate to do this job although this year it would have been easy for me as I was off work...but you did great and I am glad that I finally found the post for the list. I got two lists yesterday and I understand why it happened. Thank you again for doing this job for us again.

I am mailing out my cards from out of country on Tuesday and if I can find my ink, I will be send some out today but I can't find my black ink anywhere even though I had it at the scrapbook store on Wednesday. There are some that I can do with other colors but I need my black also...

And please disregard my post saying that I was going to have my dogs lick the envelops....I didn't even though they were trying to find something fun to do yesterday.

I love doing the card exchange and getting cards from all over the country and sometimes the world. And seeing some of the pretty cards is even better....

Hi, Sonya---so glad you found the thread! Always glad to see returning members.

And don't worry about the dog spittle--I keep trying to get mine to do small chores like picking up their dishes after a meal or sweeping up that extra fur that seems to accumulate. Never thought of envelope licking!

I finally finished the monumental task of getting all of these cards together. It was so much fun. I just wish I would have thought to let the dogs lick the envelopes. :) Mine will be going out this morning, even the international ones.
