So I have my ADN and then a bachelor's degree in another field. Because I already have a bachelor's I cannot receive any federal aid to get my BSN. I am looking for the cheapest online programs out there since I have to pay for it myself. Any suggestions?

Try some local state universities. Many are online and in state tuition should be reasonable.

i was in the same situation prior to earning my bsn..... in my experience the cheapest schools are in-state university rn-bsn programs. i worked full-time as a nurse and paid cash for my bsn. i took courses at least part-time every semester until i completed my program last year. gl!

My BSN will cost approximately 5,500 when I am done at University of Wyoming. About 140 a credit hour after fees. Price was a huge concern of mine as well as I am my familys sole source of income right now. The schools that I found to be the most reasonable were Ohio University, University of Wyoming, and Western Governors, I chose Wyoming because after transcript evals, they required the least amount of classes and they offer payment plans.
Good luck!

Least expensive that I know of is U Texas-Arlington; they advertise the program at under $6,500. Ohio University is next at about $7,800. The RN-BSN program at each can be done in a bit over a year if all you need are the nursing courses (the tuition numbers above don't taken any non-nursing courses into account). No matter what courses you've already had, I can almost guarantee that you'll need several additional pre-req courses at either school though.

I graduated from the Wyoming rn-bsn program and cost me around 4k. It is one of the cheapest Programs around and the setup is very conducive for online learning. I'm not factoring in the cost of books though, but I didn't keep any. I just resold them after the semester was over.
Thanks everyone for these suggestions. This saves me a lot of research time and it's always nice to hear opinions from other nurses about programs instead of jumping blind into something. I will check them out!

All of the following are brick and motor schools who offer online RN-BSN education and are pretty inexpensive. Texas Tech University of Health Sciences tuition is 7,224 and is only two semesters. Also Texas University of Arlington is around 6500 and is 13 mos long. Mississippi university for women tuition is 2,104 per semester.
Hope this helps
