You can do it!! Good luck!!!
  4. Find somewhere that will pay you what you are worth, that is the only way. The more of us that do that, the better for all....
  5. I have to assume that since you are asking the question you are not quite sure you did the right thing... no matter though... they wasted your time by not taking you seriously as an applicant. So they get what they get... maybe your response will help them out somehow...
  6. Still rehabing just very slow process.. I used the cd rom of questions from the pass ccrn book... throw the book away... it's too deep for this test... and the CCRN review course dvds for DR Gasparis (SP) you can get them at greatnurses.com. The test is hard but very passable... Good Luck!
  7. Been feeling like a bad nurse ever since I had a tumor removed from inside my ear... just don't have the get up and go like I used to before. The Sx left me dizzy all the time and I know it has really slowed me down although my co-workers and bosses have been kind enough to pretend not to notice. I couldn't fix my balance so I started to study for the CCRN certification. (good distraction I thought) Anyhow I took the test and passed last week. Told my manager and never been hugged so hard in my life... ( they have been pushing certification and I was the first to get it done.) same as from my preceptor from when I had started.. and lots of high fives from all my co- workers. Well I'm still slow and dizzy but this experience has healed my spirit I think... anyhow I relate this to all the good people here both to encourage everybody to get certified and if instead you're hit with an obsticle... know that this was a good way to surmount a problem... Cheers!
  8. I don't mind poop a bit... much better than difficult family members... and the reason that the other poster did not have to smell it warm was because that person I believe was refering to lab samples... notice that posters handle... good luck! This IS the best (and hardest) job I've ever!!
  9. I'd sure like to know also....thanks
  10. I am considering taking a travel assignment for the first time, I have 2.5 yrs experience on a busy telemetry floor with periodic assignments to our cardiac intensive care floor. My question is, are you limited by a contract on how many hours you can work at a facility, or as a practical matter, can I work lots of overtime while on assignment? I figure that as long as I am away from home, I should maximize my time spent earning. Has anyone ever taken an assignment and worked for another nearby facility in addition to your contract hours? Is this generally allowed if there is not enough work at your contract facility? Thanks for considering my questions and have a great weekend!! ~Dan
  11. try looking at Western Governers University...
  12. please...please...find another career...
  13. Go! Find someone there to pin you. I did not go to mine as I was more interested in looking for a job to feed my family. My wife just graduated yesterday, we went to her ceremony and it was very nice.
  14. How is the living/Job situation up there folks? I am going to come up to find a job next fall. By that time I will have my BSN and 18 months of critical cardiac care experience. My wife however will be a new grad. Is there many jobs up there? Is it hard for a newbie to find one? Do you like Wisconsin? Are the taxes resonable and are there good elementary and high schools? Should we be concerned about crime? I thank you for any comments you may be able to provide...and GO PACKERS!!!!
  15. You'll be fine. Everybody makes mistakes. There are procedure in place to minimize problems. Hold your head up.....move on......and be a great nurse someday!
