I'm a pre nursing student and would like to know what some of your gpa's were , what you got on your entrance exams ( if required) and anything to further help me !!

I have an overall cumulative gpa of 3.8 as of

Right now and I wana know what helped you guys get in ?!

Any volunteering , awards etc.

Thanks!

Science GPA: 3.02 (which was the requirement)

Liberal Arts GPA: 3.67

My semester GPA at acceptance was 3.5. As long as an applicant met specific criteria, they were accepted. An entrance exam wasn't required, but we will be taking TEAS sometime during the fall semester (our first semester) as a way for them to "see where we are." I'm looking to take mine right before Thanksgiving break so that I can focus on my nursing classes.

My school does a straight forward point system to be fair to all applicants. Any volunteer work would not be counted (how can you fairly judge volutneer work? Plus too many people get their parents' friends to let them "volunteer" with them).

The point system basically ranks you and determines if you get in the following semester. Like June applies for January and Jan. applies for August admission. We admit students twice a year with no summer classes besides optional ones. I do not know what the LPNs are on.

Basically you are given points given a variety of subjects. GPA, microbiology grade, anatomy grade, anatomy II grade, ACT score, and TEAS test. For the grades, only B and higher on first attempt were awarded points.

I was under the old admission criteria where I was accepted based on GPA.

My school uses your GPA and your TEAS score. My semester GPA at the time I got in was a 4.0, but my cumulative GPA wasn't that great, because when I first started my pre reqs a couple years ago I was going through some things with my mother's health and had missed some classes and got a couple Cs. I do volunteer work and have for five years so I was able to mention that in a cover letter, even though my school didn't require a cover letter. My school also didn't require reference letters but I got one from a well respected MD professor in whose two classes I received an A in (A & P II and Nutrition). I did well on my TEAS so those things all together are what got me in after being rejected the previous year.

My school uses primarily TEAS scores to determine who makes it in, with GPA being a tie breaker if needed. I got a 93.3 on my TEAS and my GPA was 3.96. Your best bet would be to talk to some students who have either been through or who are currently in the program you are trying to get into and ask them what you should do to get in since every program is different.

I was accepted based on high school GPA/transcript and ACT score. This was a direct-admission 4 year BSN program, so no prereqs or entrance exams. I rarely see programs like this mentioned on AN, which surprises me!

I had a 4.0 GPA

Scored a 91 on the Kaplan Entrance Exam.

The average GPA in my class of 32 students is 3.45 and the average test score was 82

Good luck!

I have a 3.1 science GPA & 3.5 overall GPA. I got an 81% on my TEAs. My school requires a 3.0 in both science & overall, and are monitoring TEAs scores to see if there is a correlation in how well we do in nursing classes because as of right now they do not have it as an admission requirement.

Specializes in Endocrinology, hopefully.

3.66 Science GPA, 3.7 Cumulative GPA... 86 on the TEAS (96% adjusted)...

Good luck!

3.61 GPA, 4.0 science GPA, Teas= 86.7%, volunteered at an elderly home (non-nursing) teaching basic computer skills

My school's admission is based off of a points system with a majority of the points being based off of your GPA, TEAS score and interview score. I had a 4.0 pre-req GPA (3.7 cumulative), 75.3% on the TEAS and Im not sure of my interview score but it was good enough to get me in! ;)

Overall GPA -3.6

Teas V- 88

We also had an entrance letter. When taking my test there were 16 people sitting for it our instructor told us there were only 4 spots left, first 4 to finish and have the passing score got in. I was second, very stressful test for me haha.
