Frankly, it doesn't matter what we did to get in. It only matters what criteria your program uses to admit students. Each program is different. I had a 4.0 pre-req GPA but that only got me 126 out of 140 points. The rest came from residency in the school district, paid HCE hours, volunteer hours and completion of a certificate course (Phlebotomy, EMT, CNA, etc.) But what worked for me might not work in another program. Focus on what you need to do to get in to the program of your choice :D

I had a 3.77 overall GPA and a 3.999 science GPA (1 A- in chem lab) at the time of application. I got a 3.0 the semester AFTER my application (so it was not factored in, as I got accepted before my grades came out) - this brought my overall down to a 3.68 GPA though... oy. Ah well. I'm transferring in the fall so my GPA will start fresh. =)

My GPA was a 4.0, and still is. No entrance exam, for RN school.

LPN school:

my high school average was a D scored in the 95 percentile on entrance exam.

I graduated high school 1987, never went to collage after high school. in 2007, took the entrance exam for a LPN program, graduated valedictorian from the LPN program in 2009.

Started pre-requisites 2010, earning a 4.0 in all of them. Started an RN program January 2013.

I am working as a LPN while going for RN.

My school does a point system to invite you to test for the Kaplan. You're accepted based on your Kaplan score. My GPA was a 3.75 and Kaplan was an 87.
