where CAN I FIND A JOB

Published

hi i'm a newly graduate and a local board passer here in the philippines..... i'm having difficulties looking a job here in our country, i almost spent my savings applying to any hospital i know, but still there is no single ring i heard to my telephone...huhuhu =( can any one help me to my problem in looking a job here so that i can have a good experience in a hospitals:o:bowingpur:nurse:????

the hospital i've tried to apply to told me during orientation that, they will train me for a month and after that they will screen me if im up to par to their standards. If not, they will not hesitate to ditch me, the head nurse simply told me "we would not feel bad not hiring you, there are just too many of you applying we can find more nurses"

can't blame her though.

It's just hard to find work here plus the nurses who passed the NCLEX and waiting for their green cards, their stuck here for years the only thing they can do is apply here or abroad. with more and more nurses graduating and passing the local boards every 6 months and no work opening up, it just add up to high unemployment rate.

what i suggest you to do, is while waiting, never allow yourself to stagnate, read, read, READ nursing materials to update yourself, with stiff competition you have to have an edge.

good luck

have you guys tried the training programs offered by hospitals?

they can probably hire you after you pass their training programs.. ive heard of makati medical and manila sanitarium.. you might want to check these hospitals out..

but they say these training programs dont count as experience more than volunteer work.. do yu guys have any idea which hospital accepts fresh grads like us as volunteers?

whats yer scope of practice as a volunteer nurse?

Good luck to us all.. may we have faith strong enough to move mountains to get thru this ordeal!

hey there dude i think World Citi Medical Center is now hiring nurses thats what my fren told, i tried to apply there but we always know we(or I) still have to wait with there call:o:specs::caduceus::typing

I agree with you guys and its not that they can't pay us because nurses' salary here in our country are too small nohhh. There is not much job openings in the hospitals yet there's an overflow of nurses.. Hospitals don't have to hire much nurses if their framework is complete, law of demand and supply. And so, hmmmm, i guess nurses is one of the big numbers who are unemployed here in our country. hehehehe because lot nurses are not working while taking reviews on nclex & ielts, lots new grads too. And even those who have already passed these exams are still unemployed like me. hahahaha. :innerconf

yup very hard to find a job anywhere in the philippines. i was even interested applying abroad. anywhere as long as they need nurses, but unfortunately experience is need in a 100 bed capacity hospital, which i'm not qualified at all. so frustrating..... but still have to keep trying and trying........:(

i think you are right about it dude and maybe and i'm hoping that our government can do something about this issue like giving us nurse work heheh im i right or not??:specs::up::caduceus::hrnsmlys:

I agree with you guys that it is not easy to find a nursing job nowadays because of the stiff competition due to the surplus of nurses in the country. One friend of mine considered moving to Dubai to find her luck there. Another friend tried being a medical rep. Anyway, there is a season for everything. Just keep the faith..

"Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." - Isaiah 40:31

God bless you all.

If you plan to work in Dubai, POEA itself doesn't require 2 years experience, just your license.

Yeah it's not easy but there are a lot of nursing fields out there, why don't you try them out while you're waiting? At least you'll be able to earn and learn at the same time.

Did you write the Unite Arabs board exam?? If so, was it hard?? What is it like?? Did you fly to Dubai to write it??

Can you tell me about this exam??

Thanks a lot

Those that trained in the Philippines have completely different requirements than those that have trained in Canada or the US, so what they had to do does not apply to you.

Best suggestion for you is to contact the Board of Nursing directly there, and get there advice to you. They will be the best ones to give you the information that you need.

Always best to go directly to the source for the information that you are looking for.

i took my exam there last april and still no call for schedule of interview. they are prioritizing their own graduates before outsiders.:bugeyes::bugeyes:

Yahhh We have the same problem. I don't know if i have to blame myself why i took nursing but we have to find solution to survive. Good Luck to you my friend.
