camo scrubs.. opinion

Published

just wondering what does everyone think of a nurse wearing a camo patterned scrub... either top or pants.. i dont plan on having both together coz that would make me stand out too much... lol..

does it look unprofessional or intimidating to our patients?

Im a male nurse and starting work this week.. i only have 2 sets of plain ol mono-colored scrubs so far..

i wana look more manly thats why im planning to get a camo colored pattern.. women are so lucky having several choices of scrub color and pattern to choose from... :p

i am not sure i like the idea of camouflaged scrubs, not even for military nursing.

oddly, the military doesn't have them either!!

my son is an army lab tech, and they either wear solid black scrubs, or regular field uniforms if they are out of the hospital....

camo scrubs would scream "redneck in october" to me, jmho.......:mnnnrsngrk:

actually we do have camo scrubs in either acu or marpat print that is authorized and worn by army and navy medical personnel. they got great with our boots and duty uniform pants.

I have a camo top with pink trim on it and all my pts love it, I wear it with plain pants though. I think that patterned pants look stupid so I wouldn't do that. I think a camo top for a male would look good though.

Check your facilities policy. I know of a few hospitals that strictly do not allow camo scrubs.

I am a brand new nurse. My favorite scrub top I own is a black and white camo. My residents where I work love when I wear it. I have been looking for a pink camo scrub top but so far no luck!!

I am indifferent to camo scrubs...shrugs.

I use to have a pair of Camo Scrubs when I was a poor nursing student; I got whatever was on sale for under $10. When I was doing a preceptorship in the Birth Center I am now an employee of I had a patient who's husband was a hunter. He was so excited that "The first thing my son will see is Camo!" :lol2:

That's too cute.

Just because you can, does not necessarily mean that you should....There is a time and a place for camo scrubs, and that time and place would be Iraq. Other than that, stick to the blue, grey, or green. A few of your patients will think its cool, but I would guess most of your patients, especially if you are a floor nurse, will think you are an idiot.

Oh who cares? People should be allowed to wear whatever they please as long as it's not against policy or physically hurting someone. If you don't like camo in the work place, then advocate for it to be banned. Then again, one would look more stupid and childish doing that than just accepting the fact.

maybe not camo

In my area (the TX panhandle) a "real tree" camo top could/would be seen, i wold have no problem with that! As a matter of fact you just gave me an idea for my hubby when he graduates with his ADN!

I think camo is cool. Where what you want, when you want, where you want! I just bought myself camo scrubs and I love them :) I'm female and they're NOT pink!
