camo scrubs.. opinion

Published

just wondering what does everyone think of a nurse wearing a camo patterned scrub... either top or pants.. i dont plan on having both together coz that would make me stand out too much... lol..

does it look unprofessional or intimidating to our patients?

Im a male nurse and starting work this week.. i only have 2 sets of plain ol mono-colored scrubs so far..

i wana look more manly thats why im planning to get a camo colored pattern.. women are so lucky having several choices of scrub color and pattern to choose from... :p

This is just my opinion....so please take it as that, no more. And I fully understand your concern with not wanting to wear something like hearts and butterflies. :)

I am not sure I like the idea of camouflaged scrubs, not even for military nursing. I don't know if it's the connotation of war, to which I'm pretty opposed, or what. I just don't know that I like it.

That said, it's up to you and if I were working with you, I wouldn't say anything because camo isn't vulgar or otherwise violating any hospital dress code that I'm aware of. And if I had to choose, I'd go with a camo top vs pants.

But this is all just me, so please listen to others before you decide.

I woudln't have a problem with it and recently bought a pink camo top lol. I agree with the previous poster though that I would just do a top and then solid pants:)

It would depend where you are at if camo scrubs would be allright.

Here in Arkansas the hunting camo scrubs would be A Okay-

Good Luck

oddly, the military doesn't have them either!!

my son is an army lab tech, and they either wear solid black scrubs, or regular field uniforms if they are out of the hospital....

camo scrubs would scream "redneck in october" to me, jmho.......:mnnnrsngrk:

I have a pink/grey camo top too....but I guess it doesn't help the male OP.

I can see his point, he would like some "manly" scrubs. Too many pink kittens and fluffy bunny tops out there, I imagine.

I say if you like it, wear it.

If somebody has a problem, (and I truthfully cannot imagine anybody would have THAT big a problem), let them speak up. Or not.:D

im Canadian btw.

ive been doing searches on ebay and half of the camo tops there are pink while the rest are blue camo.... have yet to see a camo scrub pants, or better yet, a brown/black camo.

with everyone's comments, im guessing nobody got in trouble with management while wearing a camo pattern...

i think i'll just buy one for now just to be sure.

I would not wear them in the psych ward. I think it depends on your patients. Also, you could end up enjoying 2 hours of WWII stories or hunting stories.

In response to the poster who's son is an army lab tech...That stinks having one or the other, we just started getting ACU Scrubs (we wear the army pants and the ACU scrub top). If you like camo scrus but don't want to look like a redneck nursejoe.com is a good site to get them from. I personally am going to wear my ACU scrub top during clinicals because it is comfortable and useful and my school doesn't have a uniform

Hey,

I was just wondering if u got away with wearing camo scrubs at the Canadian hospitals. I am RPN...and currently upgrading to RN. I would like to wear something like "midnight" camo or marine-digital pattern.... but Im also unsure is it's even legal or accepted in any way. Let me know.

oh and here is a great site i found online for camo-scrubs...
