Just wanted to get the momentum moving for CSUN's BSN program. I got my letter today confirming that my application is in. Already knew that since I hand delivered it ahead of schedule. Now only 4 months to go before I hear anything. How will I ever not lose my mind?
Hi Firefly,
Alot of people are waiting for some other schools and CSUN is not their top priority so I guess you still have a chance. Were you interviewed? Someone posted that she will be declining CSUN's offer so there's still chance. Wow you have a higher GPA than I do. I also have a 4.0 on all the pre requisites and but onlya 3.7 on my 1st bachelor. With your high GPA I'm sure you'll have a high chance of being reconsidered.don't lose hope. it aint over until the fat lady sings. don't give up yet!
I was put on an alternate list... so the only way I'll be in is if someone drops out. I'm so dissapointed. It's the 2nd year I am applying.... I have a 4.0 on my science prereqs, 3.8 on my bachelors/upper division... Great recommendations, some internship experience in healthcare facilities, etc. And still can't get in. And I actually thought this will be the year:(On the other note, congrats to those of you who made it!
Congrats to everyone that was accepted! At least I know when I receive my letter from them that I did not get accepted so it takes the anxiety away. I have a 3.5 in the pre-reqs and I have no idea what to do. I really dont want to have to retake micro or chem but I suppose you pretty much need to have a 4.0 to even been considered.
Good luck to you all on your future studies and careers!
Yes, SMC is my backup. There is a 3 semester wait, so right now I'm expecting to get accepted in Summer 2011. Just waiting for one more school out of 5, MSMC. We'll see. At least there is a plan B.
I called on Tuesday and I was told that it takes about a week, and that if I don't receive anything by Thursday to call them. :)

Hey Firefly,
I know it's tough and you're probably disappointed, but the really good news is you're on the alternate list. Some people would love to at least have that possibility. I've also noticed that 1 person is going to decline, and there's a possibility that another person may do the same. Hang in there and don't give up hope. The waiting was crazy, but I came to a point where I had to really believe that I would end up where I was suppposed to be and if that was CSUN, great! But, if not it wouldn't be the end of my goal to be a RN and more importantly I couldn't take it personal. Hundreds of qualified people get denied every year, and if didn't get in, I'd be a qualified person who didn't get in because I did everything in my power that I could do. After that, it's out of my hands. Basically, don't worry, and don't spend time wondering why, just keep looking forward and focus on what to do next. Best of luck!
