Just wanted to get the momentum moving for CSUN's BSN program. I got my letter today confirming that my application is in. Already knew that since I hand delivered it ahead of schedule. Now only 4 months to go before I hear anything. How will I ever not lose my mind?

Hi Sugarlips & Firefly199!!
I applied for Summer/Fall 2010 too! I just received my acceptance for admission to the university, and will have to send the verification to the nursing department. This wait is nerve-racking. Three months and counting.....
If anyone hears anything from the nursing department, please do keep us all updated. :)
I will keep my fingers crossed for all of us.
Glad to hear you got into the school. At least you have that piece done! I took epidemiology last semester at CSUN after getting accepted, but not accepted into the nursing program. Since the competition is so tough, I think the fact that I had Microbiology and Physiology still in progress prevented me from getting in. Hopefully I'll have a different result this time around.
Hey Sugarlips,
Wow, you finished epidemiology already? That's good news. Now you have one less class to worry about. I haven't taken that class yet, but I may take it in the summer if I get admitted into the Fall cohort ( I am hoping and praying ).
Now that you have all the prereqs. done, I am sure your chances of getting into the nursing program is much higher for sure!!!
By the way, do you live in the Northridge Area?
I figured I'd knock out the classes I could while waiting. I also took World Religions to take care of that requirement for other schools.
I live in West LA and it only took a little over 20 minutes to get to school, as long as I left before 2pm.
Hey sugarlips,
Did you apply for both Summer & Fall 2010? Also, if you don't mind me asking, what other schools did you apply to?
:)
Yes, I applied to both. I didn't want anything limiting myself to getting accepted. I also applied to UCLA MECN, MSMC ABSN Summer cohort, SFSU MECN and Johns Hopkins ABSN.
I also am on the waiting list for SMC, so if all else fails, I have a backup plan.
I also took epidemiology already... easy and fun class. I took chemistry during summer 09, and anatomy, physiology and microbiology during fall 09. And I got my CSUN acceptance letter... so now just waiting to hear from nursing. I live 7 miles from the school.
@ Firefly199,
Did you take that class at CSUN? If I'm lucky enough to get into the nursing program, can I buy the epidemiology book from you?
Thanks!
I took epidemiology during summer of 2007 at CSUN because it was a requirement for my bachelors degree (health administration)... I don't have a book because someone let me borrow it and I've returned it already... But even though I had the book, I never even opened it because the notes were enough... and I still got an A.
You really don't need the book if you are in Dr. Benjamin's class. She gives you all the notes you need in order to pass the class. It was good to have the tables from the book, but perhaps there is a copy in the library to refer to when needed to. I believe I missed one on the final.
