Cal State Northridge CSUN Accelerated BSN 2010

Just wanted to get the momentum moving for CSUN's BSN program. I got my letter today confirming that my application is in. Already knew that since I hand delivered it ahead of schedule. Now only 4 months to go before I hear anything. How will I ever not lose my mind?

Firefly, have you heard anything about where you are on the altnerate list. I was chosen as an alternate as well. This is extremely frustrating!!! I called and no one could tell me the number of alternates that were selected. I graduated with a 3.92 GPA. I had a 4.0 in my prereqs. I currently work in a hospital where I am actively involved in committees that oversee patient safety and environment of care. I had amazing recommendations from a CEO and two directors of nursing. I also had a strong personal statement and really good interview. I am so bummed that I was chosen as an alternate. I was just wondering if you had any idea how many alternates were selected? Thanks

I called them today too, and they couldn't give me any information. Your qualifications sound incredible, I'm surprised they didn't accept you... It's pretty frustrating.

How do you know you have to accept by April 12? Did they tell you that over the phone when you got accepted? Or was it via email?

They told us over the phone the day we were notified.

I called to follow up and I asked the girl who answered if there was a deadline on when the acceptance letter are supposed to be back to them and she gave me that date. I just received the letter and it does say that its supposed to be back by Apr 12..i got accepted for cohort 6 summer.

Looking at your credentials now answers the question why I wasn't accepted. Good luck on getting to the top of the waiting list!

I haven't received my acceptance letter either , and I live only one mile from CSUN. Reast2westN, I'm glad I'm not the only one.

Hi BlueMOON and thisisit,

You should call the school FIRST thing on Monday morning. I called them yesterday and they ended up emailing me everything. The dept will be closed from Tues-Fri next week for spring break, so call Monday and let them know your situation, and they'll probably email everything to you. Don't forget that you'll need to put your letter of intent in the mail right away because the 12th is the first day they'll be back in the office after spring break, and also the date that they need to have the letter of intent.

I will be starting this summer. Does anyone have any information on a tentative schedule or what our book list will be? I am sure they will cover all of this in orientation on the 20th of May, but with classes starting on the 25th, that won't give us much time to prepare.

I plan on sending an email tomorrow with hopes of obtaining this information, but thought I would check here to see if anyone else had the same concern.

Thanks Reast2westN! I just called this morning and they e-mailed the acceptance letter to me. I expect to hear from CSUF this week and CSULB next month. Since CSUN is due the Apr. 12th, I'll accept for now.

I really, really hope someone declines for Summer class or asks to be switched to the Fall class. My first choice is CSUN Summer 2010 class (will someone switch with me, pretty please?). Second choice is CSULB for Fall 2010. Third choice is CSUN for Fall 2010. I guess it's irrelevant if I get into CSUF this week since it's my fourth choice. Oh well, I am very fortunate to be accepted anywhere.
