Cal State Northridge CSUN Accelerated BSN 2010

Published

Just wanted to get the momentum moving for CSUN's BSN program. I got my letter today confirming that my application is in. Already knew that since I hand delivered it ahead of schedule. Now only 4 months to go before I hear anything. How will I ever not lose my mind?

innatchka,

i just wanted to know how you felt the test was overall. i have been brushing up on my math but i must admit i have become so used to using a calculator it takes me a little while to do some of the problems. how was the the science section?

Does anyone know someone in one of these Accelerated BSN programs? I have friends in the 2 year AA and they are all stressed from the amount of work. Im curious to know how people feel about the work load in one year and how they do deal with it.

definitely practice doing equations by hand - we weren't allowed to use a calculator, but my friend who took the test at a different location was. the problems are mostly really simple like "if a hospital has 3 beds per room and a total of 60 beds, how many rooms are there?"

the science was really random - very little a&p, a lot of earth science. brush up on rocks (seriously), tectonic plates, etc. i didn't really do much preparing other than some online tests (which turned out to be nothing like the test), and i guessed/reasoned my way through much of the science section and i did well.

good luck to you! :)

innatchka,

thanks so much for your reply! rocks? tectonic plates?? really? where did your friend take the test wher eyou can use a calculator? i want to take it there! i have to drive all the way to whitter from santa monica, since there are no local places that offer this test. did you feel like you had enough time to finish everything?

I believe she took it in San Bernadino, I took it at CSULA.

I feel like I had plenty of time to finish everything, except the science had me sweating since I marked so many questions to come back to. I think I still finalized my answers with time left over.

hi,

i was also interviewed on March 11. i was wondering if anyone has heard from CSUN yet? I called CSUN and they said that they are interviewing more people. The wait is killing me! I just wish that they will just look at the credentials and not just base it on the interview at this stage. I messed up during the interview. I sounded nervous, talked fast and I forgot the name of my friend who got in to CSUN's program when the prof asked me as to what was the name of my friend who got in to the program...hahaha..what a blooper! please let me know if anyone has heard from them yet! Thanks!

Am pulling my hair out tooooooo. :uhoh3:

Geez, I will be lucky to go thru this application process without a heart attack.

I was hoping for an interview and more weight on everything but my old GPA, as it is terrible.

We are to find out the status of our application by the first week of april, so not too much longer. Hang in there everyone!

By the way, does anyone know where clinicals are held??

Thanks!! Keeping my fingers crossed for all of us!!!

Hey there...at the info session we were told that clinicals are held in Northridge, Valley Crest, St. Josephs, UCLA, Motion Picture, LA County and Ventura County. Sorry I can't be more specific, but that's what I have written down. Hope it helps.

Good luck all!

Yes, good luck to everyone! I didnt get invited for an interview so Im pretty sure that means I will be receiving a denial letter. :(
