Cal State East Bay acceptance letters for Fall 2010??

Published

My friend and I applied to the nursing program at Cal State East Bay for Fall 2010 and she received her conditional acceptance package to the nursing program today. I on the other hand have only received an email (last week) requesting transcripts for the nursing department even though my application went in before hers. On the website it says that throughout December they will be emailing out requests for transcripts, not acceptance packages, so I was just wondering if I should be worried. Has anybody else received an acceptance or conditional acceptance package?

Yeah most of CSUEB's summer classes are the same length as any other class in any quarter.

Are you enrolled yet?

No, I can't see my registration date and the classes for the summer aren't listed yet correct?

Yeah, I meant in general, like you're already a student there lol

can't help but wonder, are there still folks who are waiting for their admission status for csueb?

I am still waiting on my admission to the university. I went in last week to the admissions office to check on what was going on with my application. It turns out that one of my final transcripts hadn't shown up. I couldn't figure out what transcripts were final on my csueastbay until I went to "Check your personal to do list" and then I could see more details about what transcripts were final or not. (I've taken many different classes at many different locations.) I would encourage everyone to go that personal checklist and make sure that your intent to register form isn't waiting there to be completed. Also, if you've applied for financial aid, you should check your awards status at "View financial aid" and make sure to complete your online counseling for the Stafford awards. I'm still waiting on mine to be finalized, but hopefully it will be completed this week.

I also spoke to someone about taking classes this summer, like History of Nursing for example. Unfortunately, due to budget cuts, unless you've been accepted as a summer 2010 student (as opposed to Fall 2010) you are not eligible to take classes this summer. Also, I think Concord is the only campus that has nursing classes in the summer, so I don't think it would even be possible to take it at Hayward.

I've taken Pharm and Patho online, but honestly I'll be glad to repeat them. I find online class material doesn't stick with me as well, and both of these are very important to know backwards and forwards. I've taken Lifespan Human Development through Berkeley City College (very interesting by the way) and I'm waiting to hear if those credits will transfer to CSU towards the nursing degree. I'm also waiting to hear if my Sociology and Psychology classes will transfer as well. Also, I've heard the CCC drug dosage class is very helpful, but good luck trying to get in--it fills up extremely quickly.

The orientation does seem a long way off. I"m just trying to enjoy the bit of free time I have now before the program begins!

^ Are you sure you can't take summer classes if you are admitted for fall 2010? What if I wanted to take summer classes @ the Concord campus?

^are you serious about the summer thing? Anyways for the human development class, it will probably transfer even though it isn't a upper-division course, but that class covers one of your upper division ge requirements (there's 3)for graduation. So if it does transfer, you're going to have to take another upper division course to satisfy that requirement.

Yeah, you can't take summer classes if you applied for fall. That's why I asked KR3W about already being enrolled.

^I finally see what you're talking about jenna. This sucks!!

Whatever. Easy summer to relax I guess....lol

Yeah. At least you will have one free summer available to take extra classes.
