Cal State East Bay (CSUEB) or Samuel Merritt's ABSN????
I am awaiting letters (hopefully of acceptance) from several schools, including CSUEB and Samuel Merritt's ABSN program. I would like to get feedback and opinions as to which program is superior, in your opinion. Of course time is one of the biggest factors that sets these two programs apart. It would be nice to get through school in only one year, but is it really worth the cost (financial and social)??? Also, would it be feasible to keep a job during the nursing program at CSUEB...say 24-32 hours/week (at least before starting clinicals)? Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Cal State East Bay acceptance letters for Fall 2010??
Thank you futuredream, hope to see you next year too! How are you liking the program so far? Do you know how it compares to Samuel Merritt's ABSN program? A nurse I know who trains new hires at Alta Bates told me she thinks the students who come from CSUEB are more well prepared than those from Samuel Merritt. Getting through school in only one year is appealing but I don't want to be completely stressed out the whole time and then come out not feeling confident..not to mention the cost of tuition, yikes! Any opinions on this?

Cal State East Bay acceptance letters for Fall 2010??
My friend said it was an admissions acceptance letter specifically from the nursing school...I will ask her again though, and If you find out more please let me (us) know too! In any case, congratulations! :yeah:Also, just out of curiosity, would you mind sharing what your GPA and TEAS scores are...my friend and I both have a 3.8 GPA based on the 9 prereqs and she got an 87.5% on the TEAS but I got an 86.5%....I hope that small difference doesn't blow it for me. I think admission based on strictly numbers (especially timed standardized tests) is ridiculous I really wish that they required personal statements and letters of recommendation, and took those into the evaluation process as well.

Cal State East Bay acceptance letters for Fall 2010??
My friend and I applied to the nursing program at Cal State East Bay for Fall 2010 and she received her conditional acceptance package to the nursing program today. I on the other hand have only received an email (last week) requesting transcripts for the nursing department even though my application went in before hers. On the website it says that throughout December they will be emailing out requests for transcripts, not acceptance packages, so I was just wondering if I should be worried. Has anybody else received an acceptance or conditional acceptance package?
