My schedule last sem was Monday - Interventions lab (9am-12pm) (other schedule was 1-4pm) Tuesday- Mental Health theory (0800-0940) Pathophysiology (1000-1115) Foundations (1315-1455) Community Engagement (1515-1655) you'll only go to this class 3x per semester. so Tuesday is your busiest day. Wednesday: clinicals (in patient) - 0630-1600 but sometimes instructor lets you leave early (depends on who) outpatient - we went. 0900-1300/1400 again depends on the instructor Thursday: Health Assessment theory 0800-0940 Pathophysiology 1000-1115 Friday: health assessment lab 0900-1200 (other schedule for this lab is Thursday 1300-1600)

First semester you have four theory classes which are: Foundations of Nursing Health Assessment Pathophysiology Mental Health You'll also have a seminar class which is Community Engagement. You will only meet 3x per semester. For this class you will have to write a two-page photoessay. And then your first clinical which is Mental Health. The schedules for this clinical are all held in the morning. Also, you won't start clinical until after a month you start the semester. It's split in two parts, so first half of the semester you're either gonna start in outpatient(community) or inpatient hospital. In the outpatient setting, you will get to practice all the therapeutic techniques you've learned in your theory classes, take vitals, learn how to do a mental status examination(MSE), how to start your Care Plan, and many more. All of the residents here are medically stable. In the inpatient setting, you're obviously gonna be in the hospital and see a wide variety of patients. My clinical site was in John Muir Behavioral Health in Concord and we rotated to four different units which were: Detox, Adolescent, Adults, & Peds. We were only able to rotate between three units but it was still a wonderful experience nonetheless. First day of clinical will pretty much be an orientation. You might do badging, online modules, and a hospital tour. The clinical sites we had last semester were Inpatient: CCRMC, John Muir Behavioral Health Center Outpatient: Woodrow (Hayward) BACS (Oakland) For classes registration, you will be given a priority number on your orientation and for us, it was based on our last name. So if your last name starts with a Z you will be at the very bottom of the list and will pick last. (48th) But for second semester, it will be reversed. So the 48th person who picked last time will now be the first to pick. And don't worry, all your nursing classes will be reserved for you. I would say Patho was the hardest class last sem. I managed to get an A but that's also because I studied sooooo much for it. It's gonna be packed with a lot of info. And you have Patho twice a week! Right now, I'm taking Pharm and it's kicking my butt. But it's only once a week thankfully (though the content is STILL a lot LOL) But ALL of the instructors have been amazing so far. They are VERY VERY VERY accomodating and understanding of your situation. It's a great program and highly recommend it!

Good luck, and I hope you get in! I'm a second semester CSUEB nursing student at the Hayward campus. I received my acceptance letter on 3/14 at 3pm. My friend was waitlisted the very same day, so they're gonna send both acceptance and waitlist decisions. He was given a latest possible date of August 9 before they accept or reject him. Fortunately, he was offered a spot two months later. Let me know if you have any questions!
