Cal State East Bay acceptance letters for Fall 2010??

Published

My friend and I applied to the nursing program at Cal State East Bay for Fall 2010 and she received her conditional acceptance package to the nursing program today. I on the other hand have only received an email (last week) requesting transcripts for the nursing department even though my application went in before hers. On the website it says that throughout December they will be emailing out requests for transcripts, not acceptance packages, so I was just wondering if I should be worried. Has anybody else received an acceptance or conditional acceptance package?

Are we going to be guarantee to get into all of the nursing classes for the fall? Isn't there a specific sequence of classes we must take? How does signing up for classes even work?

I know, stupid questions but I feel like I don't know whats going on lol.

Yeah, we are guaranteed. There is a specific sequence. At some point, they are going to tell us what classes to sign up for, and we will sign up for them, or they might even just do it for us. We don't have to deal with stressing out about not getting into stuff (except for UD GE classes)

Brighten - I would imagine if we register for classes in a timely manner, we're pretty much guaranteed to get into all classes needed every quarter. Typically schools have a program roadmap that will indicate which classes we need to take each quarter & I'm guessing that will be given to us. I would think that we sign up for classes on mycsueb. I don't know the answers for sure but I think your questions will be discussed during orientation.

Dang jennafezz. You beat me to it...LOL

^I know most of our questions will be answered during orientation; however, it's going to be forever until then....I believe it will be past the first summer session.

If you guys want to see the roadmap..

If you scroll down this PDF to the second page, it gives a rough outline of the nursing program - we will be in "1st year nursing" (year 3). I know it has changed a little since Concord now has a Summer quarter to take, but I'm pretty sure the first quarter is that same lineup, for both Hayward and Concord.

^ TY jenna & nursingstudent0611 for answering my questions. It seems so long.... i wish orientation was earlier so I wouldn't be so worried. I have so many questions lol.

^Yeah, they gave us that during that nursing advising session. I was just wondering if it would be wise to get rid of human development or history nursing early to lessen the load. And have any of you guys taken pharm yet?

Specializes in Telemetry.

Very wise.. I facebooked everyone I know who is in the program right now and they all said to get as many classes out of the way as possible.

I took HDEV 3800 online last Summer and it was super easy.

I haven't taken Pharm.

TY for the response Jenna. I was thinking about doing the same. Do you any of guys think that nursing dosage calculation class at CCC is helpful or not? I am trying to do pharm at CCC during the summer and try to take human-dev and/or history of nursing at EB for either one of their summer sessions.

I dunno, I am getting CSUEB's pharm textbook from a friend and I'm just gonna look it over.

Human development and history of nursing are both gonna be offered online in Summer, but they're both on the full 10 week schedule.

I am wondering about BLS/CPR.. are we gonna need to have that done before the program starts? I also have sooo many questions and wish orientation was sooner.

^wow 10 weeks...that's going to be a long semester considering the longest summer class I have taken was 6 weeks.
