Cal State East Bay acceptance letters for Fall 2010??

Published

My friend and I applied to the nursing program at Cal State East Bay for Fall 2010 and she received her conditional acceptance package to the nursing program today. I on the other hand have only received an email (last week) requesting transcripts for the nursing department even though my application went in before hers. On the website it says that throughout December they will be emailing out requests for transcripts, not acceptance packages, so I was just wondering if I should be worried. Has anybody else received an acceptance or conditional acceptance package?

Hi Blitz,

This will be my 2nd Bachelor too. I was in the same situation as you just a few weeks ago. I'm accepted to the program, but was not accepted to CSUEB yet. I was waiting for the letter for the longest time and I kept checking online for my status. I could not understand why it would take so long since I turned in my application on October of 2009, and I still haven't heard from them. So, I kept calling and calling in March. Everytime I called, I was told that I was in the process of being evaluated (for that long?!). I was frustrated and fed up, so I went to CSUEB admission and talked to someone there. The registration desk clerk give me a contact number to my evaluator. I called and e-mailed, and she got the job done.

I am a 2nd Bac as well Lynn and Blitz. I got my acceptance letter from CSUEB a few weeks ago. Like Lynn I kept pestering the admin folks wanting to find out what is going on with my application status. I never had to call my evaluator to have them finish the application. But now, I am waiting for my registration time and date to show.

So Lynn, when you check your "student center" are you able to see if your previous transcripts and courses are included in your postbac transcript? I'm trying to figure out what more classes do we need to take to obtain the diploma from CSUEB, and have you been given a registration date/time?

In terms of transportation, I am currently residing in SF and have been offered a spot at Hayward campus. I am planning to do both public transportation and driving. It is all dependent on whether that day contains clinicals, or if I have to stay at campus very late to study, traffic, etc...

When did the 'student corner' appear on your mycsueastbay page? My page just has the Action Items, Student Orientation, etc...

"student corner" appeared when i sent in my "intent to register"

raymojai,

i just checked all over my student center, but i'm not sure if we are able to see previous transcripts and courses online or i have no idea how to check it online. my previous major was health science, and i'm guessing, i dont have to retake the same courses that are posted in the class list for nursing. i'm probably going to need to speak to my advisor about this. as far as registration date, no i don't see my date and time. all i see is "open enrollment dates", and when i clicked on it, i received a message stating that i don't have access to it right now.

I sent my intent to enroll awhile ago and I still can't see my student center either.

Also sent in my intent (which was super long ago) and still haven't seen the elusive student center yet.

Hi everyone,

I'm glad I found this thread. I got my acceptance letter a while ago but just found you all. Are any of you in the same situation that I am? I've been accepted into the nursing program and the Concord Campus but I haven't been accepted into CSUEB yet. They are still waiting for my final transcript from this semester to come out. I can't get access to any class schedules or anything yet. I'm wondering if it is also hampering any financial aid. Any of you in this same situation?

Well I hope what happened to me hasn't happened to you. I"ve been reluctant to post about this because I"m still so upset about it. I sent all my transcripts in to both the nursing school and the CSUEB well ahead of time. I have been checking mycsu for several months, and my application status said incomplete. I called and emailed every week since February, and got no response. I got fed up trying to get ahold of anyone and drove to campus. Only after 2 days of camping out at the admissions office, and refusing to leave until I spoke to an administrator, did I find out what was going on. The university says they never received one of my transcripts (for a class I took over 10 years ago, and doesn't even count towards the nursing major), and says because I have missed the deadline of march 15th for transcripts, that I can't go. I KNOW I sent this transcript, but don't have proof from the other school because I sent one of my own copies of the official transcript. All my hard work, including several classes that only CSUEB required, is for nothing.

Thank goodness I didn't assume that everything was fine with my acceptance at CSUEB, and held onto a spot in a Master's program. However, I really wanted to go to CSUEB. Back up everything you give to this school in writing, and then do it again. The budget crisis has given this school's administration a perfect excuse for any and all mistakes on their part. Good luck to all of you and keep a close watch on your paperwork!

Hi LN1703,

Sorry to hear about your situation at CSUEB admission. Your not the only one. It's odd that they asked you to send in your transcript for one class that you took 10 years ago. I took a med term class at a JC this year, and they never asked for that transcript, and I hope they don't ask about it and tell me that they made a mistake with my admission. Then again, I am a returning student. What school did you apply to for the master program? I was planning to attend UCSF Entry Master, if I didn't get accepted at CSUEB. Good Luck with the master program.

Its a shame how these budget cuts are affecting the CSUEB, It is taking them so long to process transcripts. My cousin was denied:crying2: for the same reason into the University (they claimed she didn't send in the last transcript). The Nursing and Health Science dept said that a few people got accepted into the nursing program but not the university so they had to rescind some acceptance letters. They used to work with people on this type of stuff but not anymore. It use to be easy to get into CSUEB but not anymore because of the cuts and they are charging us more money and cutting classes at the same time:mad:.

To Lynn ,

I will be going to SFSU Generic Master's program, specializing in Public Health. I'm realizing that it will be beneficial to get a more advanced degree, particularly since I see myself going the NP route eventually. Also, there doesn't seem to be much incentive to get out of school quickly with the current lack of jobs. I'm not looking forward to the commute into the city from Berkeley, but I'll just study my heart out on BART. Good luck to everyone and thanks for sharing other's similiar experiences--it's good to know I'm not the only one that has been denied from the University.

Hey All-

I just received the drug test authorization form from FormFox. I'm assuming we are to make an appointment for a specimen to be taken, but does anyone know what type (i.e. paper CCF, or electronic CCF) or does it matter?
