Caitlyn Jenner has filed paperwork in run for California Governor. Will be interesting to see how CA Republican party reacts to this announcement. I wish those running for high level positions would have local experience in governing first to have learned how government works --or doesn't, how to pass bills, etc.

'I'm in': Caitlyn Jenner announces bid for California governor amid recall effort
USA Today June 2020
Caitlyn Jenner reflects on Republican political views
Quote ..."I've changed my thinking in a lot of ways," the 70-year-old reality star told the outlet. Now identifying as "economically conservative, socially progressive," she believes "we need equality for all, regardless of who's in the White House."

That is all Calif needs, another person with no qualifications running the show. Although Gov Newsom does need to go!

Maybe republican voters have learned a lesson about elevating and voting for unqualified celebrities. Or maybe not.

No. I meant like Trump. But I suspect you knew that.

Only know their LGBQT stance.... Has name recognition. Unsure if enough conservative positions for California Republicans to support her in such a blue state. Above picture (wealth to have such a vehicle, why need my money) might dissuade some from supporting candidate. Net worth is reported to be ~100 million.

A Look at Caitlyn Jenner’s Net Worth as She Runs for Governor of California
Quote ...Although the cost to run for governor in the state starts at just $4,200 – the price to file the paperwork – the costs to be a gubernatorial candidate can climb much higher. Mercury News reported that the 2018 campaign cost candidates and outside groups $40 million just to make it to the primary....

I'm not certain, but I think that republican voters may be immune to the discomfort of cognitive dissonance. It's that dissonant discomfort that might make them vote differently, right? No discomfort = no impetuous to change

Governor Newsom will not be recalled. It's a silly parlor game I can only surmise is kept alive by bored media not yet used to a psychologically normal (albeit slightly corny and all wrong on staffers past MJ use but not my call) President.
I say this because he beat his opponent by 24 points in 2018. The GOP filed their petition prior to Covid, around 4 weeks into his term, and the reason for recalling him boils down to "he doesn't support our political agenda, we got trounced, and we don't know what else to do."
I do admit it got way more entertaining as self-described digital media genius Brad Parscale jumped in the fray on behalf of Caitlin Jenner.
She is the MAGA crowd's favorite trans target by far. Right-wing pundit Ben Shapiro cancelled his subscription to Sports Illustrated because they put her on their cover.
It's like a telenovella with the revolving cast of (former? current? indicted?pardoned? where is Jerry Falwell Jr. anyway? who knows?) overdrawn characters and their many problems.
I don't know, but if Mr. Parscale is trying to worm his way back to the Trump inner circle after the Fort Lauderdale SWAT takedown incident, this sure is not the way to do it.
Uh, what kind of car IS she driving? Uninformed one here.
I think it's an Austin Healy. Pretty cool car.
