Bumblebee,
Your situation with the 1 clinical day is simply ridiculous. So, far each of my instructors have given the retake test prior to the start of clinicals. And most of them will make arrangements for students to make up clinical days even if they need more than what's allowed. I've heard horror stories about clinical instructors at all 3 campuses. I've been blessed thus far and all of my clinical instructors have been fabulous.
I had one lecture instructor who was very negative, but the others have been great. BUT...I'm about half way through. So, who knows what's to come. It's good that you're having a more positive experience at FIU.
I will be graduating in December/08. The BCC, now BC program is the hardest thing I've ver done, but if I can do it, anyone can. However it didn't come easy. I know I have to study harder than most people to get the same result, and I did.
I am proud to say that I did not fail any classes.
So if you put the time into the program and are willing to work hard, you will be fine.
It won't get easier after the first classes, it will get harder.
I never questioned my willingness or ability to become a nurse, even in those classes that I barely made it. I know nursing is for me.
So, again, your frame of mind and willpower will play a major role in your success.
Good Luck!!
Well we were supposed to get the emails by Oct 31st but that was when the close date was Oct 1 so since it was extended they will probably send them out in the first weeks of November. They need to give people time to figure out what they're going to do if they dont get accepted. My fingers are crossed. I'm on the same waiting boat as you. Good Luck!! and keep me posted
Good for you Futurecalinurse!!
How exciting that you are almost through with the program. I can't wait until I'm in your shoes. You sound so proud of yourself and your accomplishments and that really is quite an inspiration to those (like myself) who are working our way through pre-reqs.
Any advice for a (soon to be) new student in the BC program would be very much appreciated! :nuke:

Thank you so much. Yes, I am very proud of myself...did I mention that I have 3 kids and I battled thyroid cancer while in the program?...so you can imagine how happy I am. Thank you so much for your response and the best of luck to you. Time will fly and before you know you will be where I am.
