Nursing School
hey..making a decision to go to nursing school is not easy so don't feel bad. I just started in January and to tell you a few things about it. It is expensive so you would need financial aid, loans or be able to pay out of pocket, it is very time consuming. I am able to work but my job is very slow and I pretty much study while I'm there. My boyfriend gets annoyed that I dont have enough time for him and it has caused some arguments but he is adjusting to it now. You basically needs a really good support system and some kind of financial assistance. If your fiance is supportive and able to help you then stay with him but if not then you should move back with your parents to eliminate that stress because trust me you will have enough stress from school to last you a lifetime. It will one day pay off though so dont get discouraged by that.

How to pay for Nursing school: Student Nursing Scholarship + Financial Aid Links
If you sign a contract in exchange for a scholarship and do not end up working for the hospital u can always pay the money back in a lump sum interest free or in installments with usually very little interest. However, they usually do not offer these scholarships until the 2nd semester of nursing school so you would have to find a way to pay for the first semester which is usually themost expensive but they will later reimburse that money you spent in the first semester. Hope this helps

One Week into Nursing school & I'm going nuts already!!!
Thank you everyone for your encouraging words. I have definitely calmed down a little. I am just taking everyday one at a time. My first test is Friday and I am pretty nervous. I have been reading and studying since day one. If anyone has any advice on how to prepare for an exam that would be really helpful. Thanks

Hey all I just started the Nursing program at BC and its tough. There is so much work that needs to be done in such a short period of time. I am startin to feel like I cant do it. I know this is just the first week and I am probably in for more but i just needed to vent as well as some words of encouragement. I know its not impossible but...I feel very overwhelmed!!

NE1 have any info on broward community college nursing program?
Hi Leavingteaching, Since you are in the program maybe you can help me. I wanted to know about the clinical days and how long do they usually keep you. I am starting in January '09 and we just got the scedule to register and it says clinicals are on tuesdays and wednesdays from 630am to 630pm for central students. Do they keep you there for the whole day on both days?? How does that work? They did not specify that in the orientation we had the other day. Also which campus do you attend and which hospital do you go to for clinicals? I know its a lot of questions but I would appreciate if you can help me. Thank you

- Applying to BCC Jan 2009
Hey Sunyraygurl Its good to know you are planning ahead for the future. As far as HCP0130, you can take anywhere. Just go to the nursing dept and make sure they will accept that specific class from watever school before you pay your money. Make sure to stay on top of things at BC because some people will give you false info so don't ever take the first NO for an answer. Always go to the next higher power because there are so many loop holes when it comes to classes being accepted there. Good Luck with everything!- broward community college
Well we were supposed to get the emails by Oct 31st but that was when the close date was Oct 1 so since it was extended they will probably send them out in the first weeks of November. They need to give people time to figure out what they're going to do if they dont get accepted. My fingers are crossed. I'm on the same waiting boat as you. Good Luck!! and keep me posted- broward community college
