Hey everyone!
This is a thread for anyone applying for the January 2012 class at Broward college for the generic nursing track. July 16th was the date to start applying and I believe it closes sometime in October. How many points does everyone have? I had to defer my seat so I will be starting in January for sure at north campus! if I can be of any help with questions pertaining to getting in or the HESI I will be glad to help! Good luck everyone!!
I'm retaking it this upcoming week. I can only tell you each person is different. My gpa is a 3.0 so i'm really depending on my Hesi scores. If you have a high GPA I think you'll be fine.I'm also seeing it as: nothing negative can come from retaking it cause they take your highest scores. The only thing you lose is money.
I dont know if you take it twice if they look down on you for not improving your score. But from what i've heard thats not the case.
Good luck in what you decide. Keeping my fingers crossed for both of us!
They do not look down on u taking the hesi over! Take it as many times as u want and can. Also, please remember, they use the hesi as more of a tie breaker.. as well as all the other classes needed for your degree.. meaning if there is a tie between two people for a seat, they will look at not only your hesi score but also your prequistes like micro, psych etc. So the more u have done the better. I have my bachelors in psych from Nova, I had 12 points and everything done for the degree except micro and had around an 88% avg on hesi and I applied originally to the May class. I got in with my 12 points while many people with 12 points did not. So def take micro if you can before. I am also taking pharm at pbsc as a transient student to make life a little easier come January. And also, any term but May is a lot easier to get in since they take so many more students. Good luck everyone :)

This question wasn't directed to me but I just wanted to share some info on the vocab portion of the hesi with you. I took it for the second time yesterday and I passed (thank God )...I took it both times at FAU and both tests were different (extremely different)...from the first test, I remember seeing a few words from the Hesi book...the second time, I remember seeing less...not to scare you but that test (both) were hard for me...they had words I've never seen before...I would definately recommend going over the dictionary and pay close attention to synonyms. They also had spelling words there (those were easy for me). The thing is with the vocab section, I don't think you can really prepare yourself for this. Go over as much words as you can and relax and read carefully. When I took it the first time, reading section (2nd to last) and the vocabulary section (I took last)...bad idea!...I was so tired and hungry lol...I could hardly concentrate. Good Luck to you!
The first time I tested, I got 70%....the second time (82%).
The two tests I took didn't have any medical terminology words

Hi Butterflies....Does pbsc allow students to take pharm before the program? How did you go about doing that?

Thank you so much for the information. I feel a lot less stressed. I have my AA. I took microbiology and a ton of other courses. I hope I pass my anatomy section. I retake it on Monday! Do you guys happen to know if I took the anatomy in Miami and im taking it in FAU on monday will version 1 be the same? Or similar atleast?
congrats:yeah:
Thanks everyone! By the way tiff, you helped a ton! :)
Just a quick question. When submitting my application, for the Hesi results.. is it that graph printout that I submit with my application? When I took my Hesi in miami they didn't give a print out. I have to print one out myself & don't know which one to print. I'm considering just printing everything from the Elsevier website. They have an overall report of every section you took and then they have a break down of each section individually with the questions you got wrong.
Has anyone had issues with Broward receiving your transcripts? I have submitted them 3 times and they still they are incomplete. I decided that i'm going to pick them up myself and take them to Broward personally.
I feel so relieved to have the Hesi done with. :yelclap:
