To HelloJenny Just because you like someone, doesn't mean some that someone else doesn't find him intimidating, I liked him too but still found him very intimidating, but at the end I realized, he was just trying to introduce us to the real life or nurses. Now about about failing students: I am pretty sure if you take a survey and ask nursing students why they failed, most will say it 's because , the instructor did not like them. Why an instructor wouldn't like a student ? the number one answer: Attitude. One of the instructor's job is to judge wether or not you will make a good nurse, therefore if he or she feels that you have an attitude, and you don't make any changes, most likely you will fail. Pharmacology is a very broad subject, even you read the book you still won't master the subject .I had professor J, all his tests was straight from the powerpoint and critical thinking questions. I studied the powerpoint only, I end up with a B, I am pretty sure that you read the book and had a C like 80 % of the class. Reading the Pharm book is nice but I would advise a nursing student to do something that would be in his or her best interest because reading the nursing fundamental book is overwhelming itself. Plus you have the davis drug book, that give all the information you need to know about any drug currently on the market. As a student nurse, do you need to know pharmacology? Yes ! but as a student nurse you will ever master the subject in 16 weeks? No !. As you work in the clinical setting you will gain experience and great knowledge of the drugs but still there are so many drugs that come out every year, and you will still have to do research on your own.

To itschloeb My advices to you, Prof ********* could be try intimidating, don't give him attitudes, be polite, show him respect because they could fail you if they don't like you. He failed one of my friend in return demo because she had a bad attitude. Plus for the theory you don't get to see your grade( your scantron), meaning they could do whatever they want. Just keep your mouth shut. I had a friend that was going to miami dade college nursing, they failed her in cardio because she argue with one of the teacher now she s at FNC redoing the whole thing over. If the instructor say you stupid, reply " I know that I am stupid but I am ready to learn". Professor *******, you don't even need the book, just make sure you come to every class, because he has incomplete power point, study from the power point and he give 20 points extra credit. Professor *******, I didn't have any class with her but I see her all the time because she is the lab coordinator, and she seems very nice. Goodluck

Thanks for letting me know, But they said the last test is always the easiest, I guess not ! what killed me on the second test was, I spent all those hours studying acid and base, metabolic acidosis so for and so on but most of the test was " what symptom is related to respiratory, metabolic acidosis alkalosis etc. All the symptoms look alike. it was very tricky because he barely went over the symptom in class. But I guess that s the nature of the beast. I guess I will try to apply at barry and nova because all those c's not working for me. Thanks !

Hi guys I just started the program in may 2012 south campus. half of the class failed process 1 theory but I made it to process 2 . I just took my second test which was fluid and electrolyte, I score a little low but I was wondering how many students passed process 2 last term and went to GI ( the class that started in jan 2012) ? just curious. it seems like they want us to fail

is there any body that already register for classes ? I paid the 29 dollars for the drug test . and I was able to register even the lady in the orientation said we could only register on April, 5 . I register for all 6 classes without no problem.

Hi Guys, I am planning on attending south campus and I see all the available seat are almost gone. People who were accepted earlier already registered. I am freaking out cause, when few seats left , I won't have no choice but to the the horrible teachers. Gosh I hate that. It s so hard to looking at the class that you want and can't register until you have the green light

I think I am going to take my chance and start the program in may, I will be attending south campus since i live in miami. just thinking about that blue scrub i will be wearing make me excited. I work full time but i don't want to quit my job yet cause I am a single mother of one who s husband is in prison. I don't know how I will support myself because my friends told me that once you are in the program you can't work or if you do it has to be part time. but I see the classes are in the morning so I think I could still be working while in school. What s your advice on that ? Thanks your advice make me feel better

The reason my status said pre admission it ,s because so many student deferred their seat for may 2012 so they went back to the one that were not accepted. so if there some of you who applied for may 2012 and did not get accepted. check your limited access application status. hi guys today i went in apply again for the nursing program at central( this is my third time applying). i turned in my application but tonight i see my status says " pre admission". what s that mean ? the first 2 times i applied it said " application in review" and later changed to " not accepted" . i am really confuse. cause the application period just started and won't close until may 15, 2012. it s a little too early to show pre admission. is there anyone out there that having the same status as me ?
