blue tubex injector

Does anyone still use those blue tubex injectors?

I used a Carpuject (I think it's the same idea?). Was the only person to use it on the floor. Absolutely loved it and would feel horrible if I lost it.

I haven't used one of those in quite a long time...

Now I have a carpuject or two floating around, but not a Tubex...

Mine dropped and broke several years ago. I haven't seen one since. I wish someone would make them again.

This comes up here from time to time...if you're asking because you want one, try stalking Ebay for a while, seriously.

I use them every day for Morphine and Dilaudid carpujects.

I just wondered if anyone still used them.

There are some on ebay, they're asking $15 to $20 for some of them.

You should ask someone from pharmacy at your hospital. The manufacturer my hospital uses gives them out for free yet they are not freely distributed to all the departments. Maybe yours is the same.

I don't think they even make them anymore.

I think Wikipedia is accurate in this instance:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tubex_%28syringe_cartridge%29

" Although a few products are still manufactured in Tubex, the Wyeth company has discontinued the entire line of products and has licensed its use to other companies. The carpuject Hospira has now replaced the tubex as the sole competitor in this unitized syringe medication delivery system."

Wow really? Time for me to list mine :)

We use them all the time. Somebody manufactures them, because we have to get a fresh supply every now and then. Nurses here have a bad habit of throwing them in the sharps.

Love mine..took some time but absolutely love it! We give our heparin, dilaudid and morphine with the carpujet.
