I am hording my 2 tubex till they reach $50.00 as antiques.

:)

So the carpuject can be used with the tubex injector?

I didn't think they were interchangeable.

They were discontinued. I had a metal one given to me that someone liked more than me and took it.

I never let mine out of my sight when I was a student. Never use it now---time to cash in, LOL

We have one of those right now in the med room.

We probably won't have it tomorrow.

Awww, I remember those. :)

I used mine constantly when I first started working, back in 1998. I can't remember where I got it. I was surprised to see that nobody used them when I returned to bedside (briefly) in 2010. I'm sure I still have it stashed away somewhere.

We get morphine, Valium, Dilaudid, and sometimes Ativan in carpuject cartridges, but I've never seen a carpuject anywhere on our floor. We just draw everything up in a syringe with a blunt fill cannula.

I've had mine since the late 90s. It works so much better than the Carpuject! I hope I never lose it!

I don't work in an area where I'll use it (neonatal) so it's tucked in my bedside table. My 4th-grader found it the other day and just could not wrap his head around the fact that syringes didn't always come prefilled and with their own needles (he only knows what he's seen when going to the pedi for shots etc).

Would anyone pay $10 or more for one?

I have recently returned to acute care and was actually surprised to see the clear carpujets still being used. The blue ones I remember were smaller than these regular size carpujets and there use to be small tubex of morphine that were used back in about 2007 or so. I received a new clear carpujet from my pharmacy, I just asked if they could bring some down to us and they did!!! You don't have to go on e-bay to get them!!
