Hello Everyone,
I am not too sure if there is a post about this already but I am about to enter my first semester in Nursing School, and I know school is so expensive. I thought that we could start a post about books to buy/rent or alternate options. One of my favorite places to get my books in from Amazon. I was wondering if there are other great sites that is out there for us students.
I used BookRenter through my college bookstore when I was doing my prerequisites. Amazon has many rental options, and I rented a book to read over the summer through them. I recommend renting any book you know you won't want to mark up. Otherwise, buy used from a highly rated seller. I got used books that were like new.
Good luck to you!
I've had nothing but great experiences with CampusBookRentals.
And there's almost always an 8-10% promo code floating around online.
Tip: Free shipping is just as fast as the expedited. Save a few more bucks.
Have to give a warning about amazon dot com. Going through hell with them now reference identity theft. I will never deal with them again once this all gets straightened out. I am afraid it will not be in my favor.
I have been dealing with them for a couple of years now and never had an issue.
What happened in your case? If you are able to disclose.

I do not really want to go into detail, but it involves someone using my card info to make fraudulent "purchases". The first time it happened, a month ago, two bank reps in the claims dept. were very helpful and reversed all of the charges, (but failed to issue me a new card). The same thing happened again, about three weeks later, and this time, the individual in the claims dept. is making excuses for amazon and tried to put the onus on me. They made my account inaccessible online, so I have to go through them again, to find out what the resolution is and I have absolutely no access to the money that was not fraudulently taken. To say I am upset is putting it lightly.

I always buy and and never rent, because I want to make sure I have my books available when I prepare for Nclex. I find that I get better prices from Half.com and eBay. Also, organize a "book swapping end of semester party".
