Nimisha:I hope Rossario answered ur question. "One case number" but in the list of interview the case number would be repeated several times that would mean that the holder of the case number has a spouse and/or children....

Hi, Dale. On looking at the interview schedule closely, it seems to be 500 nurses and 700 dependents - not 900 nurses and 300 ds. Have a look. - kid80
nothing to worry about there is only one number for the principal applicant that is you.in fact the petitioner is the hospital or agency and the nurses are the benefeciaries ,the rest of the family go along with ,this is what i understand ,your i 140 must mentioin the whole list bye good luck STOP WORRYING

Hello Suzanne!I'm also new in this forum although I've been frequently visiting your forum to update myself regarding the retrogression which is very helpful for us nurses.
I had been scheduled for interview on July 22, 2005 but unluckily when I called my employer of such progress the lawyer told me that the hospital had stopped hiring and they can't give me any contract. It's is very distressing why on earth will this kind of petitioner be. They hire manpower and when it's near already they dumped them back. I really don't know what to do right now. Please advice me. Thanks in advance!! My Priority date- October 2003, employer - Mariners Health Inc, Consulate: US EMbassy Manila...123rsoh

i hope this is not the company that you are referring to...
mariner health care, inc.
after dumping some excess weight, mariner health care's sails have caught wind again. mariner is a top provider of long-term care in the us. the company survived bankruptcy and currently operates more than 250 skilled nursing and assisted-living facilities in some 20 states. mariner also runs a dozen long-term acute-care hospitals in four states. the company provides its residents with round-the-clock services that include health care, daily living assistance, rehabilitation, and therapy. in 2004, mariner went private by merging with national senior care (an entity formed only for the purpose of the merger) in a transaction valued at $1 billion.

Hi 123rsoh,
My friend also applied at mariners. She's scheduled for interview on the 11th. Just wanna make sure if it's the same company. Her employer is Aruna Poddatoori of Rollingstone Hills Estate, Calif. Her lawyer is Tina Huber of Ogletree, Deakins, & Nash lawfirm.

Hi suzzane,
I had been viewing these posts for last couple of weeks ...........U really help a lot of people and try to minimise their worries. I apreciate this a lot.
I have a doubt - : when US seems to be so much in demand of nurses ,why would anyone stop taking nurses just like that?.when initial agreement is done. This is kind of shaking my world too, this means any health care company would do to anyone any time . And it's more stressing when we have almost reached the destiny.
Since my PD is Mar 04 , NVC transfered the file to local consulate on 9th Nov. '04. I am very positive about getting interview sheduled in August. I hope this is not my false hope.
Anyway but it's always good to be positive and expects always THE BEST from almighty. Whatever happens it happens for GOOD.
So cheer up guys..... Good days are soon to follow :yelclap: Let's celebrate in advance

Well that happens when a company becomes BANKRUPT...they would withdraw an existing/ approved application simply because they cannot pay for the nurses that they petition at the present time even the nurse is scheduled for an interview...or they freeze hiring coz they cannot afford to survive with what they have in the corporate world...

I, too have submitted my papers to them sometime in 2003 after passing my cgfns..Ms. Aruna was the one who did the interview..the interview was in Hotel Intercontinental in Makati..I also met Ate Shirley Salvanera...if the bankruptcy is true..thank God i didnt pursue my applications with them...i withdraw my applications because that time they cannot promise me any vacancy in California which is my state of choice..
Remember that when a hospital hires a foreign nurse, it is more expensive to them right off the bat. The immigration costs, etc. plus the agency fee added on, which can be in the five digits..............one way that they will try to cut costs is to minimize their expenses. Also take into acocunt that most hospitals are non-profit companies in the US.
I highly recommend that you stay away from the company that Dale is referring to. Their track record is not good........

Sure there is a demand in the US, but unfortunately some of you have signed with some very unscrupulous companies. And there has been a demand for the past twnety years plus............ :)
