As stated above, NVC is scheduling appointments to make it easier on the Embassies. The Embassies notify the NVC of how many appointments that they can see per day. And if an emergency comes up in that country, those appts will be delayed or rescheduled. This is how things have always functioned for the most part.

For the 34 countries identified, NVC is the one scheduling the interviews. I do not know the entire list, but Manila is included. All US embassies in India are not included, that's why the consulates are the one who'se determining the interview dates based on guidelines of course. That's why interview schedules are readily updated in all consulates in india.

Suzanne, I do not know if this was really the process before but I think this "new" process is a way of expediting things and giving priority to new developments (schedule A, EX, etc) which will be time consuming if they will cascade and explain the new categories to all affected embassies.

Just my thoughts based on information gathered.

Hello, I just called the US embassy Manila to follow up my visa/case, they told me that E3 category/preference (nurse) is automatically under the EX. They told me that they are still following the June bulletin cut off date and lifting of retrogression starts July 1. They told me that all pending cases will be process on July. They also instructed me to call them anytime on July. Do you have the same response? (for those who called the embassy.

Kerovin, as mentioned above, NVC is the one who schedules the interviews. As confirmed by NVC, they already send out interview schedule (appointment letters) last June 1-15 for July interviews. Receipt of the appoinment letters were confirmed by my agency and "friends". What I suggest is, if you did not received any appointment letters for July schedules, better call NVC between July 10-15, rather than calling the US embassy in Manila.

dhel28, I'm done with my medical and interview (packet4) will I expect something from them or I'll just wait/follow up my visa? I also emailed the embassy and replied to me that they are clearing the backlog and will start process pending visa by late June. I also emailed the NVC to confirm if I belong to Schedule A.

where can I find the list of 34 countries mentioned in your post?

In the past, the embassies or consulates did their own scheduling. There are still the same number of appointments permitted per day, just that NVC is doing the scheduling. But from the Embassy standpoint, nothing has really changed....they are still seeing the same number of people per day, when there are not any emergencies going on in that area.

Submmision of photocopies of all requirements and documents to the agencies is a standard practice, the docs are kept for their record purposes. This has nothing to do with NVC. Just try to remember if you were able to submit a copy of visa screen when you accomplished and completed your packet 3. Your agency's lawyer is the one who forward to NVC your packet 3. So it is not a sure thing, even if you have submitted your visa screen to your agency, that the lawyer will forward a copy of the visa screen together with your submtted docs in you packet 3.

Just check with NVC to be sure.

Jyoth, theres no site for the list of 34 countries. It's the NVC who have the list, if you want, check with NVC if the country you want know is included in the list.
