Porcessing green cards for nurses is not high on the lists of many embassies. There are other things that are also in play here. The embassies have only so mnay slots for interviews, and I do not see them increasing as they would have to increase their embassy staffing, and that owuld take an act of Congress to increase their staffing.
I should have been more specific. Visa and immigration duties are only a small part of what goes on at a US Embassy around the world. Yes, RN progcessing for a green card is at the head of the line, but this still doesn't necessarily make it a priority at the Embassy. And in many cases, it is not and even down at the bottom.
It also depends on what is happening in the world at any given time. Their priority is protecting US citizens that are abroad, before processing for others to come to this country.
So, just sit tight....................as they say, Rome was not built in a day. :)
Finally! NVC knows what they are doing.
Just got off the phone and finally!, NVC is aware of schedule A and they also know that it is current. When I checked my case the NVC agent told me that my file/case is completed and waiting for an interview schedule. I said how long should I wait? She said that the interview schedules are released evry first two weeks of the month. So for the July interview schedules, it (appointment letters) was released last June 1-15. The lady asked me to call on July 15 to check with them. Although the lady do not want to confirm(playing safe) she hinted that I might be included in the interview schedules to be released on July 1-15.
As I mentioned before, the interview PDF in the US embassy Manila may not be updated because NVC is the one releasing the interview schedule thru appointment letters coursed thru your agency.
Good luck!

Well that is good news. Were you asked to submit your visa screen certificate? I read someone that NVC was asking for the visa screen to expedite processing of cases.
Goodluck on your journey!

Good news indeed. Fortunate on my part, my lawyer and agency waited and gave me the "new' requirement of NVC that's why I submitted all the documents including the Visa screen certificate which were required that time.
I also read the same thing. One Filipino nurse working in ireland who got a message from the NVC that his case was forwarded to US embassy Manila and waiting for an interview only to find out when he called the consulate that they cannot schedule an interview because he is lacking a document, which is the visa screen. He told them that it is with him and he can bring the original visa screen document durin the interview. But ALAS, the agent said that he cannot proceed with the interview without submitting first the document to NVC.
You mentioned before that NVC are trying to figure out who are in schedule A, and one way is thru the visa screen. So that's where the problem now, if you did not submit the visa screen (for cases who submitted the packet 3 long ago) together with the packet 3, NVC will have difficulty knowing if you are a schedule A case. What I suggest is to call the NVC and cofirm with them if yur records with them are under schedule a. I guess, those affected are cases already sent by NVC to consulates without including the visa scree. If you are one of them, ask your agency for help.
dhel & dhale, would you mind to let me copy and paste your recent posts for me to share to my agent in NY? just for your info that i like to use it as a referrence.. hoping for your kind approval.thank you.

Dhel:
Actually I am not a nurse. I am just helping someone. Can you post the new requirements specified by NVC that nurses need to submit? It will help a lot of people you know...My friend is not under any agency...Directly petitioned by the hospital so I was the one who do the "follow ups"
thanks....

Dhel is right! NVC is the one giving schedules for interviews in the US consulates abroad. This scheduling started last December 2004. So it is not the fault of other consulates if they have not yet posted interview dates because NVC is the one who controlls them.
As Dhel mentioned, interview dates are usually released around the first two weeks of every month. So I guess we have to wait until July 1-15...

That is how it should be. I am sorry, but proof of English should be right up there, not waitng for two years down the line. If you are already in the US, then it is supposed to be submitted in the beginning, but it doesn't always appear to be. Unfortunately, I know of several nurses that are here working as RNs and can't get close to passing the English exams, but have been working for over one year already. They need to even up the rules for everyone, if you are going for a green card, then you need to produce all documents in the beginning, not at the end. This would speed things up quite a bit for those that are waiting.
Sorry, but this is the only fair way to handle things.
If you do not have your VSC when your number is called for the Embassy interview, all files are now being closed and you have to begin over. It will save much time to have things completed in the beginning..........also a chance at a much better job.
