Become a Nurse without Nursing School

Published

Anyone know of any opportunities abroad to become a nurse thru apprenticeship rather than thru traditional education?

(I'm fed up with looking for accelerated programs, having to meet bogus requirements, etc. I'd rather just do on-the-job training for 3/4 the pay in some other country. Anyone know of anything like this?)

Couldn't snag any good dirt about imposters on my state's BoN either. Oh well.

One state I'm licensed in shares this information giving the name (alias, if they have one), date of birth, and the city and state where the imposter resides.

Funny thing, my friend kept telling me she worked with a girl who was an RN. The job was not a nursing job and paid much of nothing. Stories she told didn't add up as to why this girl would be working there if she was a nurse. I searched and could not find that she was licensed as anything in any state around me. My friend and I concluded she must be a CNA or sitter.

I finally met this girl and she mentioned she was a nurse but we got interrupted and I never had a chance to ask her anything about it.

Rumor has it she liked to fabricate and was fired from her job for making up one too many stories. Last winter, I saw her name on the board's nurse imposter list. It was definitely her. She had tried to pass herself off as an RN.

A place had hired her and discovered upon license verification, she had none.

Everyone will be happy to know I managed to take both of my useless statistics tests I had due today. No thanks to you maniacs.

And that loony kiwi.

I can't "like" this enough. Where on earth did you find that ad?

Grandad's Mediao mag?

Did everyone forget about California?

Can Cna's with some experience still challenge the Lpn boards there?

To the op,just become a Cna 2 in NC.

They get to do some nursing skills on a more "advanced level" but unfortunately, they would still be considered Cna's.

But the OP doesn't even want to to THAT...that's too much work.

Exactly. The OP wouldnt want to do the basic/fundamentals of nursing CNA courses. They are bogus. Remember?

I've just recently became an active participant of AN. Are there always this many crazy posts or is it like, the full moon of the internet week?

Isn't that why there is youtube? Just type in "how to insert central line in 5 easy steps"

Aw hell, why not skip medical school altogether in favor of watching reruns of Doogie Hauser, MD??

Maybe make a plaque for the wall "All I Ever Really Needed to Know about Medicine I Learned from House".

What say?

Tiaras aside, even if you could find such a program, it would not mean you could return to the U.S. and work as a nurse.
