It more like the intoxicated combative abusive .......person.......who has cussed, spit, bit, punched their way through the EMS and ED staff, in 4 point leathers, after wrapping their car around a tree......might need a large gage IV for rapid infusion of fluids.
It's just a joke......((WINK))

Well, I mean, that person could definitely benefit from at least a 14 guage.

Just saying....
That was literally my first thought at seeing this picture! Forget the IV, what about a giant french Foley?

Same day pt can't get discharged until they void. Some men early on in the post op phase would already start ruminating "I'm never going to pee. I will never to be able to do it ." I used to go to the OR get the largest catheter available (drain pipe size! ) and place it at their bedside and say "we probably won't need this bit good to have it,just in case " Amazingly this inspired them to pee within 5mins!!
Next pt please, this ones ready for discharge!

Please don't let anyone think nurses might have a sense of humor. God forbid should it be a dark sense of humor.

I've only been a nurse for a very short time, but I thought this was funny ... some people need to loosen up. Be kind to nurses, we decide whether to use the same needle we use to draw up the medication ... LOL

Ah, the beautiful passive aggressive dimension of the "Art" of Nursing:)
I also reserve the right to convince your Physician you need an enema since it has been almost 3 days now since your last download! Hehehe:)

Darn. I have to feel guilty not only because I've considered all of the above, but that I also find it completely hilarious.
