Hello!
Just wanted to start a new topic for the next intake for those applying in Feb 1 2021- March 15 2021 for the Sept 2021 intake at BCIT!
Hey Everyone!
I am writing my CASPer exam in 30 minutes. After reading multiple forums it seems as though everyone has the same take on it - an unfair, scam. Who knows! I believe it takes more than 5 minutes to think critically and answer 3 questions clearly, but that's just my opinion. I'm hoping they don't weigh it too heavy during the admissions process.
I am applying with a Health Sciences degree (180 credits). My GPA is roughly 3.8 on a 4.33 scale. I have 2 years of experiences as a project coordinator for a health authority (mainly working with ICU staff). In addition to those 2 years, I have 2 years of physiotherapy assistant experience, as well as 5+ years as a volunteer at a seniors home care centre. Although I think my application is decent, I am extremely worried about the CASPer exam - I think it could make or break my app.

You have an amazing application!! Try not to worry too much about this. I think it's natural for everyone to be nervous though. From what I understand they purposely make it short so there is little chance of cheating. Just try to answer the questions with quality rather than quantity. I'm also writing mine in 30 minutes, best of luck to you!
Just did my CASPer! it was pretty good I only ran out of time on my part 11 but it wasn't a big deal cus I already wrote a lot and was just adding one more sentence when time ran out. I feel pretty confident in it, the scenarios were good! Honestly better than the practice test. How about you guys?

Do you have to write paragraph-like answers? Is it stressful?

Honestly I didn't find it stressful I did the full practice test so it was the same layout. I just told myself I am doing a practice test LOL. You don't have to write the answers super formal I just wrote as it was coming to me since they know you obviously don't have time to edit I also just did spelling mistakes and didn't correct to avoid wasting time cus I think they said don't worry about spelling. I found it very straightforward and pretty easy to understand the questions and scenarios.

I managed to write probably 3-4 lines in each question but some of them I only wrote 1-2 lines in the 3rd question. Scenarios itself were okay.
But honestly some of them you couldn't even write a lot I did that too so don't be worried some of them didn't have long responses that you could write

That's a good idea, to telling yourself that it is a practice test. I don't like exams, they make me extremely nervous. However, do the practice test was really helpful.

Did anyone do the snapshot at the end? Do we know if bcit looks at those?
The casper people look at them I believe at the end to give u a better score or something you should do it
