BCIT Nursing Sept 2021 Intake

Published

Hello!

Just wanted to start a new topic for the next intake for those applying in Feb 1 2021- March 15 2021 for the Sept 2021 intake at BCIT!

Hey everyone! Planning on applying to UBC, Langara and BCIT for Sept 2021 intakes. I've applied before in 2016 for BCITs program but got rejected. Hopefully this time I can get in. I've got around 60ish credits from SFU and VCC. My grades I'll be applying with:

AP Psych

CHEM 11: 73% (LOL)

Pre-calc 12: 86%

ENGL 1100: B+

ENGL 1200: A-

MATH 1111: A-

BIOL 1120: A-

BIOL 1220: A+

SOCI 1100: A-

SOCI 1200: A

I've finished the HCA program at VCC and worked a year in the community setting at FHA, respite caregiver for DDA for 8ish months, customer service at Metrotown for 2 yrs, and have been volunteering around at the church I attend (pre-covid). Fingers crossed for all of us!

hey there, sounds like you have a very strong profile here! My only concern is, don't you need chem 12 for ubc requirments?

Hey

Does anyone know if were allowed to take LIBS 7001 and 7021 for the classes you can take before you start the program. I saw on the outline for the classes breakdown by semester that it says to take 7001 and 7021 but for some reason on the FAQs it says take 7001 and 7002 nervous that I signed up for the wrong one

Hey there! To answer your question, yes you are allowed to take both LIBS 7001 & 7021 before the start of the BSN Program to reduce the course load. I just checked and the FAQs must be a typo because LIBS 7002 is Applied Ethics and LIBS 7021 is Health Ethics. The LIBS 7021 is the course listed in the BSN Program but not LIBS 7002. There may be a chance to correct this, just check with an advisor or admissions regarding this before the Spring semester starts.

I ended up emailing an advisor and they said you can take LIBS 7001 and then you have the choice between LIBS 7002 or LIBS 7021 for anyone that's wondering!

Did anyone book their CASPer test yet? Mine is on Jan 12 or has anyone already done it and how was it for you?

I have not done this yet. I hope it's not too late! I have to figure how to do this. ?

It doesn't take long!

Just set up your account on CASPer you need your ID to verify it's you as well from what I can remember and I think after your account is approved your able to book your test. I believe I booked mine at the end of October cus I wasn't sure how fast they book up. They had two dates for January and then 1 for Feb but after Feb 1 so I decided to book the soonest one which was Jan 12. I wanted to have it done before I apply on Feb 1 but I'm not too sure when the actual deadline is. I believe it's safe to assume it's March 15 since that is the last date to send in your application and they automatically send your results to BCIT so you just have to do the test.

Hi everyone! I'm trying for the September 2021 application as well, and I was wondering how submitting our transcripts work - do they see all of the courses we took, or can we select the ones we want to use for our application?

I recently contacted BCIT about this and they said that if your sending in transcripts to the school from other institutes they can just look up your id and find it if it was already directly sent to bcit but recommended to attach an online scan copy because it apparently helps them process it faster. You submit the scan when your applying on the opening date. I never asked about if they see all the classes but im assuming they do because they view your overall transcript but I don't really know how much they take into consideration the classes that were not pre reqs when reviewing your application. Theres no actual section where u submit individual grades for pre reqs they check by themselves for those classes on your transcript when reviewing if you meet all the baseline requirements.

Thank you so much for explaining it to me, I was so confused! I think that makes sense then, that they would see all the courses. Hopefully they don't take all of them into consideration, I actually didn't do as well on my non pre-reqs.

Is anyone taking the LIBS courses in January?
