Hello AN community! Can you please relieve my stress about having a chance to get in to BCIT? what gpa do I need? I admit I am not the perfect straight A student but I have work and volunteer experience so I am hoping my experience will support my acceptance - is that naive?
I would email admissions. The second questionnaire is quite different from the first one. The first one is like a resume and the second one is like a behavioural interview only accessible to shortlisted applicants. The deadline for submission for the second questionnaire passed on April 4.
This is my second time applying. What does your application look like? # of credits? Experience?
Hi,
I did get shortlisted and I missed the deadline because I had trouble opening my BCIT email, however, I emailed the nursing department if I am still able to take the questionnaire. I received an email back right away saying that the questionnaire ends tonight (April 7 @11pm). It has to be completed tonight for my application to be considered. Although it says there that it must be submitted by April 4 @ 11pm, I was able to complete the questionnaire tonight.
I have 50 credits overall with 3.3 GPA
I work as a Care Aide at a nursing home for two years now. I volunteered here and there, including summer camp leader.
No, I'm not currently waitlisted. This is my second time making the shortlist, I have 33 credits with a 3.75 GPA, lots of volunteer experience in a health care setting, 10 years of varying work experience, including working in a management role and I will have both of my LIBS completed by next week.
Hi miss_josie_r
I initially applied for the January 2016 intake and that was my first time applying. I got a notification saying that I have met the requirements to the program but it is currently full and that admissions has put me on the waitlist. I got a call a few days after that saying that I had been accepted into the program. Due to personal issues, I asked if I could defer my offer until August 2016 and they allowed it.
I am honestly not sure what my GPA is because I don't know how they calculated it. I did apply with a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from University of Toronto. I had lots of experience working with children and also in a retirement home.
Good luck!!!

Hi Miss_josie_r
I haven't heard from them yet nor received a notice telling me that I have been shortlisted. Does that mean I won't be shortlisted? Do you think they will be sending a notice next week too?
Do you happen to know if they will provide a questionnaire form again like the initial one? or Is it done online?
