Hello AN community! Can you please relieve my stress about having a chance to get in to BCIT? what gpa do I need? I admit I am not the perfect straight A student but I have work and volunteer experience so I am hoping my experience will support my acceptance - is that naive?

It won't let me add myself to the Facebook group :( Would someone mind trying to add me?

Can't wait to meet all my new friends :)

I'm Josie Robertson from Vancouver

Hey Josie! I can only add friends so you have to accept my friend request first and then I can add you! I just sent the request my name is Andrea Jonsdottir :)

I just received the call! I am so excited to meet all of you and start my nursing career! :D

Hey everyone,

Congratulations on the acceptance and good luck to those still waiting!

Hi AndreaS22, when you said your GPA was 3.25, did you mean the GPA you had for all pre-requisite courses or for all courses you ever took combined? Thanks a lot for your help !

Hey freelikeair, I believe that was my GPA for just the pre-requisite courses :)

I am in too!!! I cannot wait to meet you all:D

Hey everyone, can anyone tell me what a typical week would look like for us? Apparently we don't get our official schedules until August, and I am debating trying to work while in school, so I would like to know how many hours I will likely be on campus/in clinical. Thanks :)

Monday: Class 830-330. You will have no life Monday night because you will be preparing for clinical the next day. This is super intensive.

Tuesday/Wednesday: Clinical 730am-130pm or afternoon shift later on in the day depending on your hospital (not sure of the hours because I never worked these). While getting off at 1:30pm sounds great, I and most students had the same issue of going home and literally crashing into a 4 hour nap because clinical is really mentally exhausting. If you're not as lazy as the rest of us, you probably could work these days depending on your assignment load for the week.

Thursday and Friday depend on your individual schedule. You might go to start school Thursday 830 and be done and 1:30pm but have to come back Friday for another class. For me-I had school 830-330pm on Thursdays and Fridays off the first part of the semester.

However in week 7-Pharmacology starts and you will have to come in for the one hour class on Fridays regardless (so silly).

I hope this helps!!

Hello nursing student friends!

I just started BCIT's program last week and have a question for those who are in level 2 and/or completed level 2.

I do not have to take microbiology in level 2 because I've transferred it from elsewhere. I have completed LIBS 7001 with 77% (in which I barely tried and am horrible at writing essays). I was considering taking LIBS 7021 Health Ethics in level 2 since I won't have to take microbiology. This way I will have the entire summer off without taking any classes. Has anyone taken LIBS 7021 or can shed light on the workload in level 2?

Thank-you!
