BCIT nursing applicant August 2016 intake

Published

Hello AN community! Can you please relieve my stress about having a chance to get in to BCIT? what gpa do I need? I admit I am not the perfect straight A student but I have work and volunteer experience so I am hoping my experience will support my acceptance - is that naive?

Hi Shaylynr! I'm sorry to say I can not relieve your stress about getting into this program as I am stressing myself. My GPA is not great either and I have no volunteer experience but I do have relevant work experience as a Mental Health worker. I have read in a past thread that someone was told by admissions that 3.0 was a competitive GPA but I don't know if I believe that. However that would be wonderful if that were the case as I believe my GPA is around 3.25. Did you apply to any other programs?

Hello fellow aspiring nurses.

I too am stressed because my GPA is only 2.99 but when I went to their orientation they said that they weigh in the required courses than your entire gpa as well as experience in the health field. If you volunteer especially in the nursing home I think there's a good chance you'll be a competitive candidate.

Are you talking about Burlington county institute of technology

Hi there, no this thread is referring to the British Columbia Institute of Technology located in Canada.

Hi everyone! I just applied to the program for the second time so I wanted to get this thread up and going again! Good luck to all the applicants!

Hi!! I am wondering if anyone who is applying to BCIT has applied anywhere else? I have applied and been sent an offer to Douglas College already and have also applied to Langara.

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.
