Hello AN community! Can you please relieve my stress about having a chance to get in to BCIT? what gpa do I need? I admit I am not the perfect straight A student but I have work and volunteer experience so I am hoping my experience will support my acceptance - is that naive?
Hi leefion, I'm not too certain about how they compare. From what I have heard BCIT is known for being an incredible program as well as the opportunity to specialize. I haven't personally heard much about Langaras program. I have a feeling based on the specializing that BCIT may be a bit more challenging than Langara but thats just my assumption. Sorry I don't have more specifics! Good luck with your applications!
Hey guys! I've applied to BCIT for fall as well. I was accepted to school in Calgary but then my boyfriend accepted a job in Vancouver so fingers crossed! I'm curious about GPA and experience as well. I have about 5 months work experience in a medical clinic and roughly a 3.30 GPA. I'm worried about not having much volunteer experience as I've noticed it seemed to be an asset in previous years. Good luck to everyone and hopefully I'll be meeting you all in the fall!
Congrats to those who got shortlisted! :)
I wrote the questionnaire last year and from what I remember, they were short answer questions such as "describe a situation where you had to show leadership" or "describe a situation where you demonstrated teamwork and collaboration"
can't remember the exact questions but I hope that helps!! (also not sure if they use the same questions every year)

Hi AndreaS22,
How do you think the 2 programs compare? I'm leaning towards BCIT because you can specialize!
