Hello AN community! Can you please relieve my stress about having a chance to get in to BCIT? what gpa do I need? I admit I am not the perfect straight A student but I have work and volunteer experience so I am hoping my experience will support my acceptance - is that naive?

Jcyw,

Are you referring to the second pdf they attached - regarding the CRNBC links?

"Reviewing the following sites will provide insight into the nursing profession, and assist with your understanding of the questions in the questionnaire.

CRNBC Professional Nursing Standards:

Professional Standards

CRNBC New Graduate Competencies:

https://www.crnbc.ca/Registration/Lists/RegistrationResources/375CompetenciesEntrylevelRN.pdf

CRNBC Requisite Skills and Ability:

https://www.crnbc.ca/Standards/Lists/StandardResources/464requisiteskillsabilities.pdf"

I have read that from previous posts as well, I just was not sure this is what they were referring to though.

P.S. Congratulations to you and Andrea (above comment) for both getting shortlisted. Would love if we could make it in. heheheheheh.

Does anyone know if this part of the process is based on grades or has that part passed? Is this phase mainly based on the questionnaire?

Thank you for providing us with this information. It is probably the most detailed information we've received - I personally couldn't find anything more informative than this, found vague information.

Leefion, did you find the questionnaire difficult? And did you end up using information from the CRNBC links as everyone else has mentioned?

Also, have you already been accepted? If yes, congratulations! If not, maybe we'll all be lucky enough to enter the same classrooms!!

To ipascu,

Nope I wouldn't say that it's difficult. They're similar to questions you get asked in a job interview. I think it's just to get to know you better but then again, I'm not sure if they ask the same questions every year. And no, I didn't use any CRNBC links.

I applied for Jan 2016 intake, got shortlisted, waitlisted and then accepted. However, I had to defer my offer due to personal reasons. So yes I have been accepted into the August intake :) looking forward to others getting accepted too!!

Thanks for answering.

It's nice to hear they're not difficult. Hope to see you next term :-)

Congratulations, everyone! I've been shortlisted as well. Very exciting stuff!

Has anybody completed the questionnaire yet? I just submitted it and am feeling very anxious!

I will be doing it shortly! Haven't had the time to sit down and gather information yet.

How did you find the questions to be? Any pointers?

It was relatively straight forward, all the info you need is in the email that was sent. Hope it goes well!

I suppose it's just a waiting game now. I'm going nuts already.

I just submitted my questionnaire and I'm feeling pretty good about it! Now the waiting game begins...

hey guys, I got shortlisted, completed the questionnaire yesterday! Does anyone know what the chances of being accepted are now? Or what the next steps are?

Congrats to you all btw! :)

Hi everyone,

I applied for August '16 intake at BCIT as well and my application status is still "Pending Department Review" for almost two months now.

I am wondering if there are going to offer me an admission with my 3.3 GPA and my experience woking with seniors in a nursing home for two years.

Can someone tell me the process of being shortlisted? I am very clueless about it.:wideyed:

I have completed a questionnaire along with my nursing application. I am wondering if there is another questionnaire that they are going to ask me to complete?

Hey Mkevlig09,

did you receive a notice several days ago to tell you you'd been shortlisted? Shortlisted applicants are to complete a questionnaire (different from the initial one), then applicants are given notice of their status (offer/non-offer) by April 30th.
