BCIT nursing applicant August 2016 intake

Hello AN community! Can you please relieve my stress about having a chance to get in to BCIT? what gpa do I need? I admit I am not the perfect straight A student but I have work and volunteer experience so I am hoping my experience will support my acceptance - is that naive?

Looking at the posts in prior years, it takes them about two weeks between the date they close the questionnaire and the date they send out acceptance letters.

It sounds like you should all be hearing shortly. I was in the same situation as mkevlig09 but was not as lucky. I did not catch that I was shortlisted until today. I should have been checking myBCIT more regularly but with all my other emails that were sent to myBCIT, I received notification of in my personal email... not with this one (which really, is the only one that mattered.) I called today and it sounds like decisions have been made so they would not let me write the questionnaire. Best of luck to you all with your acceptances!

I am so sorry to hear about you not being able to write the online questionnaire. You must be very disappointed and freaking out right now, and I know how you feel. I felt the same way, but luckily I was allowed still to complete the questionnaire.

Did you apply somewhere else? If you did, then wait to hear a response from them. Best of Luck!!!

Did anyone apply for Nursing at Thompson Rivers University? I just accepted their offer today, but still waiting for BCIT's response:D

Yes, i am pretty devastated. Although I was happy to hear your situation worked out, it made mine almost worse - knowing that you were allowed to complete your questionnaire after the posted deadline but that I wasn't :(.

I have an interview at UBC tomorrow so I am hoping that will go well.. If not.. I guess I will wait and apply for BCIT in January

Technically, April 7 is the end period of that questionnaire (it says on the website), but the Nursing Dept. wanted applicants to complete the questionnaire on the 4th. I found out that I got shortlisted on the 7th at around 6pm and I submitted mine at 9pm.

I think they can adjust the deadline for a specific individual if necessary. For me that same notice on the quiz website showed Apr 4, 11:00 PM as the deadline.

You can try to get in as a competitive applicant by having, i think , 30-60 credits done. I'm stressing too don't worry! You are not alone! I'm trying to get in at BCIT aswell and my grades are like 70% averages

I know that there were 320 applicants this intake, but does anybody know many applicants got shortlisted?

182 were shortlisted. Only 320 applicants? That seems small!
