Seeing as it's almost time for the start of the August 2014 intake applications, I figured it apt to start this thread now.
This will be my second time applying (applied previously for august 2013).
Currently working on finish my second A&P course and will be finishing my undergraduate degree next semester!
Let the waiting begin~ :)
Based on previous intakes. It looked like only the shortlisted were asked to complete the extra questionnaire.
The ones who weren't shortlisted were rejected.
When I applied last year for the August 2013 intake, the ones who got shortlisted were told that there was over 700 applicants and about 150 were shortlisted.
Oh wow, lots of posting here since I last checked! I think I'm going to attempt doing the questionnaire this weekend. Or tomorrow. @lnguyen, yes - what was the questionnaire like if I may ask? They said to go study up on those links from the CRNBC but I'm not sure how much of it are we supposed to know? I'm assuming we have to integrate some of the information on the CRNBC website with our questions?
I just got off the phone with program advising. The woman wasn't very helpful seeing as how I was referred to her to get answers and received none, regarding my application.
I currently have 3 courses on the go that will not be finished until April 30th, approximately. Unfortunately, only one of these courses has midterms, the other two are only assignments and done through mail. My question was regarding the other two courses and how I should present that I am, in fact, taking them.
That said, even without them, the application is fine. An admissions officer just suggested I somehow show them anyway, you know, "the more, the merrier!"
I asked the program advisor why they extended the deadline and she replied saying that a lot of students are just writing their final exams and will not receive their marks by April 15th. Then again, she didn't know how to help with anything I asked... Just giving all of you an update.
ipascu, if you just want to show BCIT that you are taking those classes, they should be able to see it on your transcript. The transcript I ordered showed all the classes I've taken along with the ones I'm completing this semester. It just shows them as 'continuuing' on the transcript. I sent that along with my midterm marks. I think that would be enough proof?
I don't get why she said the deadline was extended because a lot of students are writing their final exams? That doesn't make any sense....
Extending the deadline to april 15 for final marks doesn't make sense. Most of us will finish it on april 30, so, they shouldve extended it further if they want our final marks. We had a reading break in Feb, which dragged this semster till end of april (bummer). They probably don't have enough applicants thats why they extended it, but then who knows :')
xmichelle, I'm finishing up LIBS 7002 right now and I just registered for 7001 for the summer, let me know if you have any questions :)
Cesh, I just got the "insufficient" letter today too... It recognized that I was taking A&P this semester and my midterm marks, and said to send in the missing requirements by the application deadline... Not really sure what to do, can't do much until I have my final grades!
LiquoriceTea, hows the LIBS 7002 so far? You're taking an online course, aren't you? You're not alone! I just checked their website and it says that they will only process complete information. I don't know if that was a recent change or if that has been there for a long time! But, i'm starting to think that I have no chance of getting in this Aug because I won't get my final marks till end of April:( I will still try to apply on January tho!
Don't lose hope! I think a lot of people are in the same boat and applied with midterm grades so you never know! :)
Yeah I'm taking it online, it's nice not to actually have to go to class. If you've ever taken a philisophy/ethics/critical thinking course, it'll be easy. Most weeks we are given some type of scenario and we have to comment whether or not it is morally right or wrong and why according to that week's readings. It's only about 200-300 word paragraph to submit every week. It's the easiest class I have this semester so I'm not complaining

**or next business day
and Cesh, haha it was similar to the 'additional info' form but it just required more in depth answers although it asks for max 250 words each question
