BCIT August 2014 Applicants

Seeing as it's almost time for the start of the August 2014 intake applications, I figured it apt to start this thread now. :D

This will be my second time applying (applied previously for august 2013).

Currently working on finish my second A&P course and will be finishing my undergraduate degree next semester!

Let the waiting begin~ :)

Major delay since I have to reorder them and wait for the transcripts to get here. :(

Wish I found this forum earlier!

I did the exact same thing. I was told to upload my unofficial transcript in PDF form and that they shouldn't have a problem with that.

When the time comes and you make it to the next level, you will have to hand in the official transcript and they will ask you for it.

I think you can still hand in your application today! Right?

I just talked to the admission officer from bcit, and they have extended the deadline to April 15!!! They still didnt say much about the "insufficent" applicants, but it feels like they don't have enough applicants with complete requirements.. Hopefully they wont have enough so we'll get considered!!

Was the admission officer avoiding the topic of insufficient applicants when you brought it up?

She wasn't really avoiding it, but it feels like she really just doesn't know. She said it depends entirely to the nursing department and the number of applicants, which I'm already aware of. :( So, theres really no new information aside from the extended application deadline.

e.m., did you also hand in a midterm mark?

No I'm actually not applying for this intake because I'm finishing up my prereqs (2 I'm doing in the summer). But I'm definitely applying for January 2015!

Hopefully my transcript will arrive in time for the new April 15 deadline.

I'm curious about why they kept delaying the deadline. Could it be they bumped it to the 15th so that applicants completing their prereqs this semester would be able to apply with their final grades? The 15th is still a bit early for final grades to be released for most in the current semester though.

Hmmm that's interesting! I guess it's good for us if they're not getting that many applicants haha... My final exam for A&P in on April 24th so the new deadline doesn't change anything for me. I hope they're not expecting people to have their final grades in by then!?

I doubt it chiseen! I think they just dont have enough applicants, thats probably why they started letting people apply with midterm grades. If they already have enough students for this aug intake, I dont see the point of extending the application deadline further. I guess thats a good thing for a lot of us! Haha. Goodluck chiseen! I hope they get your transcript soon so you can get shortlisted! :D

Liquoricetea, mine is on april 16 and april 25, but I doubt they'd be able to mark the exam right away! If they extended the application deadline for final marks, it would make sense to extend it till the end of april! So I dont think its that! Haha. I wonder if they already started offering seats to people or if everyone has to do that questionnaire. Hmm..

I think we all have to do the questionnaire. I just submitted mine cause I wanted to get it over with! have to study for finals. they say that they will decide on everyones final status by april 30th!
