I JUST GOT ACCEPTED TO BAPTIST AND WILL BE STARTING THIS FALL. I AM SO EXCITED. I WAS WANTING TO KNOW IF ANYONE COULD TELL ME WHAT TO EXPECT AT ORIENTATION AND ABOUT THEIR EXPERIENCES AT THE SCHOOL.
the HOBET is over reading comprehension and basic math. there is a review book available in the admissions office. or you can google HOBET review materials. careful - you would think math is harder than the reading comprehension. it's actually the other way around. the reading section gives more people more trouble.
as for the religion class, yes you have to take a bunch of prereqs and nothing can substitute for another (unless you have already taken such a class that can transfer in [e.g. religion for religion]). there are a half a dozen or so such classes that (believe me) are the most aggravating in the world (religion, computers, philosophy, literature, speech...) but nothing we can do about it.
I had BCE on Friday. It was boring, but we were doing stuff the whole time and I didn't get to open my book at all! I'm appealing a few of my transfer hours. My minor was in English and they are saying none of my lit classes will transfer. They are also saying I need Intro to Computers, but all of my grad classes are on adult learning with technology and required Intro to Computers as a pre-req. Plus, I am a computer trainer for a healthcare organization :)
I'm also bummed about the availability of the night/weekend courses. I'm taking A&P 2 next Spring and the only class available was on Saturday. The lab that is 45 minutes after it was already closed, so I'll have to hang around campus 3 hours for the next lab. I keep hoping someone will drop the earlier one!
But, everyone was really nice and I'm looking forward to starting. I'll start clinicals in Fall 2010.

I have a couple of questions on Baptist. What is the entrance test on to be accepted into their program? Do you have to take religion courses, or can a gen ed course be subsitued for it?
Thanks,
Kelly
