I JUST GOT ACCEPTED TO BAPTIST AND WILL BE STARTING THIS FALL. I AM SO EXCITED. I WAS WANTING TO KNOW IF ANYONE COULD TELL ME WHAT TO EXPECT AT ORIENTATION AND ABOUT THEIR EXPERIENCES AT THE SCHOOL.

I found this thread about Baptist, hope it answers some of your questions.

I have been accpeted too. I am also going to be at the orientation on July 26. This is so exciting. I was wondering what to expect too. I am actually nervous. I hope that it really won't take me two years to get to the clinical part. But if it does, who cares I am still one step closer to becoming a nurse. We should keep in touch, seeing how we will be at the same school and same program. Good Luck.

I called Baptist yesterday and talked with advisor b/c I was kinda uneasy about starting clinicals in two years b/c I only have like eight prereq's to take. Unfortunately, he said that I would have to wait if no space became available. I am really upset but like you said, we're one step closer. We should all keep in touch.

Yeah, that is the most discourageing thing about this school, the wait for clinicals. I have 13 classes that I need to take before I am able to start clinicals, I can finish those in 2 semesters and a summer. I know this sounds bad but hopefully something will open up for us so we can start our clinicals sooner than Fall 2010. I could be ready to take my clinicals Fall of 2009. You will be ready to take your sooner than me. Well, lets keep our fingers crossed that something will open up for the both of us. Talk to you later.

P.S I am sending you a private message with my email address.

They said I would actually start in Spring 2010.. I can start next summer.. They said that what most people do is take up a minor in health care management. It is discouraging, but we have to think positive. Something is going to open up. Maybe we can take some classes together

Same error message coming up again.

i'm in the same boat with all y'all. i only have 31 hours of prereqs to take (which isn't much if you span it over the 5 semesters we have to go before clinicals start). i just calculated it and i would be taking 6.1 hours per trimester (this is going summers, too).

as it stands right now, i'm scheduled to start clinicals in the summer of 2010. like you guys, i could move up until the fall of next year, even! so what am i going to do for 2 full trimesters? just take classes so i can stay in full-time student status??

i'm going to PM you guys my email address.

Most people have to sit out the trimester before clinicals. I transfered to Baptist in spring of 07 and I'm starting clinicals in spring of 09. I'm also an evening/weekend student. Day students start clinicals must faster.
