I JUST GOT ACCEPTED TO BAPTIST AND WILL BE STARTING THIS FALL. I AM SO EXCITED. I WAS WANTING TO KNOW IF ANYONE COULD TELL ME WHAT TO EXPECT AT ORIENTATION AND ABOUT THEIR EXPERIENCES AT THE SCHOOL.

Most people have to sit out the trimester before clinicals. I transfered to Baptist in spring of 07 and I'm starting clinicals in spring of 09. I'm also an evening/weekend student. Day students start clinicals must faster.

that's ridiculous! why do they set up their program that way? i emailed someone about this and about seeing how to move my date up. they emailed me back suggesting i do a minor in healthcare management. grrrrrrrr... anything to get more money out of us, i guess.

I called last week and they said the same thing about a minor in health care management. It does suck!!! I start clinicals Spring 2010. I am doing the day program. I was hoping to start 2009. Two wasted semesters.

Where are clinicals done anyway??

I have the both of you beat I start Fall of 2010. I think I am starting to want to explore other options.

what other options are you considering?

I was thinking about exploring other options too, but I don't know what else I would love to do. Guess, I'll just have to ask God to grant me some patience

Well, what I mean by other options is maybe becoming and LPN first, because it is cheaper and not as long of a wait. Or Doing somehting called the RODP-AASN. You take A &P 1&2 and microbiology or pathophysiology. Then you take the nursing theory online and do your clinicals with a home school. It seemed like a cheaper and shorter route. But I would really prefer to have a BSN.

yeah. i think even though it's going to be 3 years, i would much rather do that than go through alternative avenues. the bsn is worth its weight in gold.

Yeah it's worth it for a BSN. I see so many people on the site who are just going for LPN or CNA.. I think BSN is the only way for me. Anything else, too me, is a waste of time.

I think clinicals are done Baptist Memphis(East), Baptist Desoto, Baptist Rehab and the Med. Clinicals last five trimesters.:wink2:
