Please help!! I'm getting discouraged again about starting clinicals so late

Me too.

Ooh, just try not to think about how long it will take. I go part time evening wknds and I won't graduate till August 2011. I have stopped dwelling on it cause it makes me IMPATIENT.....So, I just try not to focus on the length of the program, just on how nice it will be to truly be done and not have to go back!

Classes are filling up ya'll!!!

really? i haven't been watching. i decided i'm not going to watch 'cause it'll only aggravate me if a class fills up that i wanted. besides, my friend told me that they schedule our classes and our entire academic plan for us at orientation. good thing we've got the first orientation date!!

That's an advantage!!!

Hi LadyBug77. I have done two semesters(trimesters) at BCHS. I have to finish fall 2008 and I begin clinicals Spr 09. I am an older student(37) but I really like the school. I believe that no matter where you go, your attitude is key and it is about what you put into it. There will always be things to complain about but it is up to us to hold on to the positives. The school is professional and they offer lots of activities and there are many support systems in place. So overall I think that it is a great school to attend. If you have more questions feel free to ask me. Hope this helps and congratulations on getting accepted.

hi there,

do you mind if I pm you regarding this? I plan on applying for 2009 and this is the route that I will be taking(can't afford to not work due to family and financial obligations).

Hi Tia. You are more than welcome to pm me.

anyone besides me excited about the orientation coming up this saturday?

Hi hgbwan. I attended orientation last summer and I enjoyed it. You will get a whole lot of info and a monthly planner for the entire school year. You will also meet with your advisor and register for the upcoming trimester. It is long but worth it. The process is called the Baptist College Experience and once school starts you will attend the BCE class once a week for six weeks. Congratulations on your acceptance and have fun at orientation.

I am but I won't be able to be there this Saturday. They filled up before I got my paper work in I guess. I will be there Aug. 2. But yes, I am very excited, I feel like we are really getting closer.

I'm currently a student at Baptist. And start clinicals in Fall '09. Somehow or other it got pushed up from Spring 2010.:yeah: I did orientation Spring of this year.

I did my prereq's at Southwest, applied to Baptist and Southwest, took the HOBET and NLN and was accepted to both schools, but choose Baptist.

It does no good to dwell on how far away clinicals are, just do the gen ed, get them done and don't worry about clinicals until you start. After Fall trimester this year, I have only 1 more trimester of gen ed. This I have clinicals which i'll really be glad to start. Thinking about when you start clinicals will be counterproductive. It's been driving me crazy as well! :banghead: I've started to lose motivation, but now I know I need to put my game face on and get it back. lol Baptist is a great school.

But i'm learning to stop worrying about it and just go with the flow. Baptist College Experience can be fun depending on who's doing it.
