It will be hard but it can be done if you can get financial aid and student loans. You might also look into tuition deferral programs offered at the hospital. To be successful you must restructure your life so that you can study on a regular basis. I have seen people fall by the way side because they don't restructure their lives. I am a single mother of two teenagers and it is hard but I have one year to graduation and I use that as my encouragement. Good luck to you.

As far as I know they will ask for clarification about the arrest. She may also have to show the paperwork that clears the matter up. I have a friend at BCHS who had an old arrest for wreckless driving or speeding excessively. He met with them and showed the paperwork that proved that it was clear. I hope this helps.:wink2:

There is a clinical wait time. I have heard that some people work while they wait. In my opinion, getting in to Baptist was about as competitive as getting in to U of M. I don't know about Southwest, UT, or Union. I have been at Baptist since Fall 2007 and I am in my second clinical rotation. My graduation date is December 2010. I like the school and have to agree with one of the above statements about staying in the program once you begin clinicals. It is far tougher than I could have ever imagined but I really do like the school. There will always be negatives but I am thankful for my slot and plan to graduate on time. I hope this helps.

I am not 100% sure but I believe that it is around 2.5- 2.7. Hopefully, someone else can weigh in on this.

With your math class, the key is practice, practice, practice. If there is a concept that you don't understand meet with the professor immediately as the material will be fresh in your mind. I am taking statistics online and I meet with my professor weekly for tutoring because it is like Greek to me. I am also in my first clinical rotation and I am taking Pharmacology. As far as A&P is concerned, time management is key. You have to try to read it daily if possible,if only for 15 minutes. You should study your notes daily also, so as not to get behind. If you study hard, read and really know the material, you can go into the test with confidence and do well. I cannot stress time management enough, it is the key to success. I am working hard with my time management skills as I am super overwhelmed with clinicals and all the info and techniques I have to learn each week. We have to remove all books, backpacks, pens, and pencils. We then go through the whole test and she explains the ones that most people missed. We are forbidden to talk about the test to other classes. We are also allowed to review the test in the professors office within one week of taking the test.

I will be taking Statistics along with clinicals. I will then have 1 gen. ed. left and that will be Literature.

Hi LadyBug77. I did okay not as well as I would have liked but I did get 2 As and 2 Bs. I just kind of got burned out at the end. I would have had to make almost perfect scores on the two finals of the classes that I got Bs in but I am thankful. I am also excited to start my first clinical rotation in January but not excited that I have to tack on a gen. ed class. This semester was hard for me but I should have divided my time more wisely. I generally work only on weekends and I now have two teenagers as my youngest just turned 13 and my oldest is 14. I am so happy you did great. Keep it up girl!!!!!

The last 2 messages make a lot of sense to me. I do not work full time as almamatters and am not nearly as far along in school as nurse2be09. But I kind of crammed a lot this semester and did not use my time as wisely as I should have. I started out strong but just couldn't seem to get it together for finals. So I really want to get it together for the spring semester as I am set to start my first clinical rotation. I think I will spend some time in prayer and ask the Lord to help me as well as create a study schedule of some sort. Thanks for all of everyone's honesty about grades and study habits.

The same thing happened to me but I didn't have a name for it. I settled for a lower grade because I did not prepare for the final properly. It was worth 25%. These tips are great and I will follow them next semsester.

I am also incredibly happy that the semester is over. This was my third trimester and the most difficult one yet. I studied hard all semester and just kind of fizzled out the last two weeks. I will be taking the next couple of weeks to regroup as I begin clinicals in January.

Hi. I am a 3rd year Nsg student in a bachelors program. I need advice on purchasing a care plan book. I have reviewed several online but am not sure what to choose. I begin my clinical rotation in Jan. 2009 and would like to purchase one before I begin. Is there anyone who has used one successfully? If so can you give me the name,author, and why you liked that particular one. I have absolutely no experience with care plans or how to begin to write one. Thank you.

I know how you feel. I am taking Micro, Health Assessment, Intro to Prof. Nursing and Speech. I am always swamped. Health Assessment and Micro alone are enough to keep me busy. But in January I will start my first clinical rotation. I am both excited and scared to death. I cannot wait until Micro and Micro Lab is over. I just took my third test today. Now I just have take the final on Dec. 11 and the lab final on Dec. 3. Good luck all!!!!!

Does using the NCLEX to study help? I have never thought about doing that. I am taking my first nursing class (Health Assessment) and it has been a struggle. Trying to switch from gen. ed. thinking to critical thinking has been hard. I am going into finals with a low B and I would like to keep it I am also taking Microbiology. It is tough taking gen. eds. along with nursing courses. After this semester I have only two gen. eds. left. Unfortunately, I have to take them along with NSG courses, as I am scheduled to start clinicals in January. I appreciate any study tips that I can get.
