I JUST GOT ACCEPTED TO BAPTIST AND WILL BE STARTING THIS FALL. I AM SO EXCITED. I WAS WANTING TO KNOW IF ANYONE COULD TELL ME WHAT TO EXPECT AT ORIENTATION AND ABOUT THEIR EXPERIENCES AT THE SCHOOL.
I'm thinking that maybe Baptist isn't for me after all. This is part of a x-post from another thread. I was just admitted for the Spring with clinicals not starting until Fall 2010. I just found out they are only accepting 18 of my hours! I have a B.A. and a M.S. My minor is in English and they denied my literature credit appeal! I'm a little peeved. So I switched my classes this spring so I can apply for Union in the summer. I'm taking A&P II and Stats at Baptist, then I'll take Micro and patho this summer and hopefully I'll get accepted to Union. That's unless Baptist completely wins me over this semester, but I doubt it.

I've also made the decision to transfer from Baptist, because it isn't the school for me. I will continue to attend school here, seeing that I scheduled to start clinicals Fall 09. I'm taking Patho, English Comp II, Health & Society and Biomedical Ethics. Summer I will be taking Intro to Professional Nursing, Pharm I and Health Assessment. These credits probably won't transfer to the U of M, but i'm mainly doing it to pull my GPA up high enough to get into the program. I hate to put off my clinicals since I am this close, but I prefer to be in an environment that will be accepting of me.
quick question, If someone was accepted to start fall 2009, (or for spring 2009) When will they start clinicals. I just wanted an estimate cause I am applying to Baptist to start in the fall 2009 and have most of my pre reqs done and wanted to know about how long do you usually have to wait for your clinicals? thanks! Also what GPA is what you really need to get in!?

Your clinical date will probably be 1.5 to 2 years from the time you start. This is why I transferred to Northwest in Senatobia MS but I am transferring back to Baptist to finish my BSN. Hope this helps and good luck!
No, they have a separate RN - BSN program that begins in January only and it is a 1 year program. I have just a few classes left to complete my BSN as I attended BCHS for 2 semsters. Hope to knock it out in 2 terms. And that's why I transferred; I was ready to begin my clinicals without the wait. However, you can petition to get into an earlier clinical and if they have the space, they will move up your clinical date. There is usually a waiting list. Hope this helps.

I will be taking Statistics along with clinicals. I will then have 1 gen. ed. left and that will be Literature.
