  1. Yes, I am from here. Sure, just PM me!
  2. Well it's not a ton, but the cost of living is cheap in Memphis. I just spent the past four months in Boston and sent out over 300 applications, and didn't get even one interview. I applied for a few jobs back in Memphis, and have four interviews next week.
  3. Methodist Lebonheur is $21/hr for new grads.
  4. Has anyone heard if they are going to do this again in September?
  5. You cannot "transfer" to UTHSC. You go there as a new nursing student and no other nursing classes you have taken transfer. You are with a cohort while you are there. I do not recommend it because it is very expensive (I am coming out with $90k in student loans) and I do not feel as if the classes were as high a caliber as at Memphis. My sister was at Memphis the same time as I was and I believe she got a better education.
  6. Do not work at St. Francis- Park. I spent the last eight months there for clinical and it was a horrible experience. The nurse to patient ratio on the floor I was on was sometimes as high as 9 to 1. The nurses there are leaving left and right due to how bad it is.
  7. Not true. You can start at Lebonheur and any Methodist facility as a GN.
  8. You can go to University of Memphis and get financial aid and still work. Do not go to UTHSC, I'm graduating from there in May and I wish I had gone to Memphis instead.
  9. I would continue applying now. I'm graduating in May also, with my direct entry MSN, and my class has 48 others who are graduating, plus all the students from Memphis, Baptist, Southwest, etc. If you wait until after boards, you will have catching up to do. I have had three job offers, but I know others in my class are having difficulty. Good luck!
  10. I am a new grad in Memphis, starting out at $21.50 (I'm getting paid .50 more an hour since I externed there). I'm working nights, so I'll get $4/hr shift differential.
  11. If you want hospital work, go for the RN. Not sure what part of the state you are in, but in Memphis, most of the hospitals are no longer hiring LPNs anymore. St. Francis even laid off all of their currently working LPNs.
  12. I went into a Tier II position without being a Tier I first, I was hired within 6 months of graduation.
  13. Does anyone know if they'll be doing the internship again after the initial group goes through?
