  1. Thank you! That makes me feel better. Yes, I can move up in my current area if I wish. It is just a general med/surg floor though and I don't really want to settle for that. I may end up having to settle though just so I can get my foot in the door. I guess I won't start worrying too much until after boards :)
  2. Is it just me, or other new grads experiencing difficulty with the job search. I graduate in May with my BSN and currently work as an extern at Methodist. I have sent in countless applications, but have recieved no calls and recruiters will tell me nothing!! Ughh... so frustrating!!!
  3. I have worked as a nurse extern at methodist north since May 2010. I started out as a tier I and in my last semester of nursing school became a tier II and recieved a pay raise. I do not believe that you can just go straight into a tier II position without being a tier I first. The requirement for the tier I position is that you must be within a year of graduation to qualify. I don't think that it would be worth applying to an extern position since you are so close to graduation. I would keep applying for RN positions. Good luck with the Germantown position. That is my next choice if I cannot get a position at Children's!
  4. I am a senior BSN student. I am expecting to graduate in May. I currently work as a nurse exter tier II at Methodist North. I would love to start my nursing career in pediatrics. Does anyone have any advice about Lebonheur Children's or St. Jude? Will I have a good chance with LeBonheur since I am already working for Methodist? Any advice from nurses at Lebonheur or St. jude would be greatly appreciated!
