I JUST GOT ACCEPTED TO BAPTIST AND WILL BE STARTING THIS FALL. I AM SO EXCITED. I WAS WANTING TO KNOW IF ANYONE COULD TELL ME WHAT TO EXPECT AT ORIENTATION AND ABOUT THEIR EXPERIENCES AT THE SCHOOL.
really?? i thought most people who interviewed got it. i mean, there's a great nursing need at baptist hospital, right? why not give it to those who apply for it? that way they know they can count on you for at least 2 years.
but seriously though - i guess it's tougher to get than i had thought.

I also interviewed , but was not accepted:crying2:
Best of luck in the future:up:
I interviewed also but was NOT accepted. I really looked forward to this BUT there IS a BIGGER PLAN I know! I have the GPA, even the faculty that interviewed me was shocked I didn't get accepted BUT like I said there is a bigger plan. I am disappointed but NOT DEFEATED!!!! Thank God for the opportunity anyways!
Congratulations to all that got accepted!!!
re: the tuition deferral, i was talking to some people about that yesterday. they said that if you are on the deferral, they actually take a portion of your paycheck to pay your loan. granted, you don't repay the entire thing over the 2 years but you end up paying for like half of it. i thought by you agreeing to work for them for 2 years they would forgive your debt, not make you pay it back. does anyone know anything about this??
For myself and a few others, there is no desire to be tied down to any particular hospital or institution after completing NS. The sky is the limit...!
My job will pay for 6 hours, at the U of M rate, for their full time employees as part of their tuition reimbursement program. I plan on taking advantage of that start this Spring. Every little bit helps.
BTW...what classes have you guys registered for? I've pre-registered for 15 hours.:typing

My understanding is that they do forgive 1/24 of the deferral amount plus accrued interest for every full month you work. If you work the full 24 months then all is forgiven. You will most likely have to pay tax on the amount that is forgiven.
I have 15 hours right now, Health and Society, Critical Thinking, Biomedical Ethics, English Comp II, and Pathophysiology.
But I think I might drop Critical Thinking since it's the only day class that I registered for, and I think taking 15 hours while working full time is academic suicide.

I was talking to one of my classmates who got accepted into the program.
And she said that Baptist only acepted, 24 people into the program this time. Maybe that why so many people were left out.
Good luck in the future.
