I JUST GOT ACCEPTED TO BAPTIST AND WILL BE STARTING THIS FALL. I AM SO EXCITED. I WAS WANTING TO KNOW IF ANYONE COULD TELL ME WHAT TO EXPECT AT ORIENTATION AND ABOUT THEIR EXPERIENCES AT THE SCHOOL.
Can someone please pm me about the semester before clinicals??
I'm taking Intro to Profession Nursing and Health Assessement. Intro to profession nursing is only a six week class. Health assessement last the whole trimester.
I start clinicals in spring of 2009. I 'm also a evening /weekend student.
In spring of 2009 , i will be taking Pharmacology and Foundations.
Feel free to ask any more questions.
Memphis Tiger- NOOOO!!! I don't regret it!! Please don't get the wrong impression of Baptist. I was just frustrated b/c I thought something different. I love Baptist.. There you are not just another student. The faculty is so helpful. How many schools do you know where the teachers are willing to talk to you about anything?? Where making a C on ANYTHING bugs them (meaning failure is not an option)?? They are so helpful there. Please feel free to pm me,and I can tell you more... I have been to two different schools, and Baptist was the best choice for me.
@LadyBug....you have to take Health Assessment and Intro to Professional Nursing the trimester/semester before you start your clinicals. There is no way around that.
You can take other classes with those 2 but I wouldn't. lol
I just finished with my academic advising, i'm taking 15 hours next trimester.
Ok. LadyBug, thanks!I'm taking the Hobet tomorrow. I have a NLN review book I'm going to look at just to refresh my math.
Trust me, the HOBET is easier than the NLN any day. But you shouldn't have a problem with either one. Look at me, a person with no degrees and out of high school for more than 10 years. I took the NLN and did some last minute studying and managed to make 137 the first time I took it. I did similarly well on the HOBET.

The HOBET was not too bad. The math is basic with a little algebra. The reading was a little tougher for me. However, I had been out of school for many years, so I studied. I purchased the book and I went to the study session for the reading portion. You get app. 1 min. per question. With your educational background you should be fine.
